Requisition Summary

The Materials Manager reports directly to the General Manager and is responsible for leading the PACCAR Engines materials and logistics staff (local and remote) who manage inbound freight and inventory to provide an optimized and cost-effective uninterrupted flow of material for all Dynacraft manufacturing and distribution facilities. The Materials Manager leads the design, development, direction and implementation of programs and processes to manage PACCAR Engines' multiple supply chains.
The ideal candidate is a leader and is proactive in taking action to drive supply chain improvement and will have demonstrated success in making lasting improvements. Fact- and data-based decision making is a requirement for success.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

• Interface with production, customer service, engineering, quality, corporate purchasing and suppliers to resolve major supply chain constraints.
• Manage the division materials and logistics departments in Columbus, MS, including demand planning.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and develop strategic plans to increase productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness.
• Establish performance standards and objectives for the materials and logistics organizations that support PACCAR Engines key operating objectives (Material Availability, Delivery Reliability, Inventory Management, and Profit).

Qualifications

• Ability to foster teamwork, encourage innovation and drive for results.
• Understanding of production facilities, assembly operations, heavy-duty truck knowledge.
• Ability to summarize complex issues and present solutions to senior management.
• Understanding of Lean/Six Sigma Principles.
• SAP experience.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and proven ability to supervise employees with minimum of 3-5 years management experience is materials or supply chain.
• Demonstrated competency with cross-functional engagement and collaboration.
• Working knowledge of and experience implementing material planning principles.
• Proven negotiation skills and excellent written and verbal communication.

Education

• Four-year degree in Business Administration or other related field required.
• Master’s degree in Business Administration or other related field strongly desired.
