We are seeking an experienced Marketing Specialist with a strong background in paid conferences for one of our non-profit clients to support their efforts in growing their audience base and revenue across various programs by contributing to their overall author acquisition and engagement initiatives. This role would be perfect for a candidate who is independent, self-motivated, and have a genuine love for marketing within the conference and event space.

What you’ll do:
In this role, you will work cross functionally to ensure seamless integrations, aligned messaging, and coordinated execution. This position will support marketing for the organization’s pre-existing products, as well as the launch and nurturing of new ones.
Additionally, you’ll:
- Writing and updating marketing copy for event websites and emails, marketing collateral and conference support deliverables.
- Synthesize product information into compelling marketing copy for each conference. Requires knowledge of SEO best practices.
- Negotiate and review standardized collaboration proposals, coordinating materials/delivery and tracking advertising and marketing materials for the collaborating organizations.
- Assist with marketing deliverables tied to SEM and paid social media campaigns (executed by agency partner), negotiating and implementing other paid campaigns at the direction of the Marketing Manager.
- Build and maintain a marketing schedule for assigned conferences, including key conference milestones, campaign dates and sequenced activities, and resource live dates.
- Support the event planners in creating compelling copy and descriptions for conference websites, including uploading content as needed, ensuring consistent brand look on website, emails, and other marketing materials.
- Monitor the online conferences and events calendar on the client’s website to ensure all information is live and correct.
- Schedule and execute marketing campaigns to the internal database, including creating marketing emails from a selection of templates, also monitoring and reporting performance across multiple platforms.
Required Qualifications:
Who you are:
A skilled Marketing Specialist who has experience tracking performance of campaign tactics and providing accurate reports to event managers and conference leadership.
What you have:
- Knowledge of SEO/SEM and Google Analytics.
- 3- 5+ years of marketing work experience in conferences, events and tradeshow environments preferred.
- Desire to explore and proactively surface new distribution channels and products.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, or related field.
- Working knowledge of the general marketing process- research, planning, promotion, and evaluation.
- Hands on experience working on paid digital or email campaigns.
- Self-motivated with strong project management skills and the ability to effectively prioritize projects.
- Experience with enterprise level marketing automation platforms (Salesforce Marketing Cloud preferred), CRM systems, webinar platforms, ESPs and content management systems.
- Adaptable, problem solver, self-motivated.
The starting hourly rate for this role is $31-$37. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent on several factors including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, certifications, training, and location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range and determining factors for compensation are considered for each individual circumstance. Our client also offers a competitive benefits program to meet the health and financial well-being their team and their families.
