Job Description

Utz Quality Foods is seeking a Key Account Executive that will build and develop strategic customer relations in assigned targeted markets (Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island) with the primary purpose of accelerating sales opportunities in the major retail environment. This leader must successfully identify, plan, and communicate proactively with strategic customers in the major retail environment to drive sales and open developing/emerging markets. Ideally, the successful candidate will live in the South New Hampshire / Boston area.

This candidate must possess +7 years’ proven sales experience in a related position within the consumer products goods industry with direct account responsibility. Previous experience selling to and managing the grocery channel in the Northeast Market is preferred. This position requires strong analytical/assessment skill, creative problem solving and strong communication skills. Demonstrated leadership, solid financial acumen and consumer/category insights are a must. A bachelor's degree with a focus in business is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit special reports, acceptance of products, or competitive conditions, as may be requested by management or as observed in the marketplace.
  • Ensure observance of safe work practices to include the immediate work area, visits to customer sites and operation of a vehicle used for company business.
  • Build brand equity and profit, increasing the sales volume on all assigned brands.
  • Prepare weekly sales reports and expense reports as required.
  • Identify opportunities to maintain and expand distribution on existing business and find unique opportunities for incremental sales and profit.
  • Achieve assigned sales quota through the maintenance and expansion of distribution, merchandising and promotional activity for each assigned brand at grocery accounts in the market to include by not limited to the Kroger Atlanta/Delta/Nashville KMA’s, and local grocers such as Food Depot and Wayfield.
  • Build strategic partnerships with customers by integrating the Company’s strategic initiatives with those of the customer.
  • Be alert to competitive products and merchandising practices; keep management informed.
  • Comply with all company policies, instructions, and directions for the fulfillment of company objectives and to maximize profits from sales.
  • Build strong cross functional partnerships internally, and consistently share best practices.


Requirements

  • Communication skills.
  • Leadership and learning organization skills.
  • Strong analytical skills necessary to present sound cost strategies based on estimation of risk, operating cost and customer sales volume.
  • 3+ years’ experience utilizing syndicated data; excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to analyze and evaluate several sources of data to develop actionable insights.
  • This position requires extensive use of computer equipment. Must have a demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft business software to include Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook. Familiarity with Nielsen or IRI programs is preferred. This position requires the ability to travel and have overnight stays.
  • 7+ years proven sales experience in a related position within the consumer products goods industry with direct account responsibility.
  • Position is based in Northeast, U.S. 20% travel required.
  • Able to work closely and successfully interact with internal and external customers.
  • Proven experience using large volume of data, product knowledge and customer familiarity and successfully applying it to negotiation strategies.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college with a focus in business, preferred.
  • Analytical/assessment skills.
