Job Description
About The Role
New Story pioneers solutions to end global homelessness. We work with philanthropists, impact investors, financial institutions, and key players in the housing ecosystem worldwide to create sustainable housing solutions for low-income families across Latin America. This empowers families to be active participants in a market where they can afford the housing they want. And as we all know, a safe home changes everything.
There's a massive under-investment in affordable housing everywhere, especially for low-income families in the global south. At New Story, we're developing life-changing, profitable pipelines to unlock impact investments and innovative financing (guarantors, technical assistance funds, etc.), but we need you and your talent on our team. An entrepreneurial role like this offers extraordinary personal and professional growth opportunities.
As Investor Partnerships Manager, you will find new prospective impact investors and innovative finance funders. You will focus on securing major investments into New Story by powerfully communicating our impact investment platform and strategy, presenting material (that you led creating) and proposals, and building relationships in the relevant capital markets.
Over the next 12-18 months, this role will be responsible for the go-to-market strategy and prospect cultivation for raising our first $50M+ of impact investment. You will be charged with creating something new (how we secure capital for our impact investment platform) in partnership with our Impact Investment Director (investment deployment and portfolio management) and building processes and structures to support it.
This position reports to the Chief Development Officer (in the interim to our Chief Business Officer) and collaborates closely with our Impact Investment Director in Mexico City, Growth team, Impact team, and Executive Team.
What You'll Do
  • Cross Team Collaboration: Work alongside the Finance, Impact, and Growth Teams, to assess opportunities and identify target funder segments, bespoke vehicles, and other investment structures. Develop a deep understanding of program strategy in order to properly communicate and represent impact strategy and outcomes.
  • Capital Raise: Identify and secure impact investment from high net worth individuals, multilateral funds, development banks, network organizations, debt capital markets, government agencies, institutional foundations, and other key funder segments interested in supporting New Story’s mission.
  • Investor Materials: Create and maintain materials needed for fundraising and ongoing reporting on New Story’s initial investment vehicles, including marketing, proposals, CRM, dataroom/DD, and legal processes.
  • Investor Relations: Create and implement a strategy to cultivate, grow, and manage a pipeline of impact investors and funders, serving as a key voice and subject matter expert in building a blended finance strategy that attracts catalytic funding to advance New Story’s mission. This may involve attending or presenting at conferences where funders will be present; and hosting briefings, webinars, and meetings to help funders learn about New Story and highlight the organization’s thought leadership.
Who You Are
  • Ability to work on a multicultural team, across lines of difference.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • 5-10 years of successful capital raising experience. Securing 7 figure investments is commonplace for you.
  • Strong acumen in corporate finance and analysis.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time (domestically and internationally).
  • Understanding of impact strategies driving market systems change, financial inclusion, affordable housing opportunities.
  • Ability to inspire and hold accountable diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to participate in evening and weekend events as needed.
  • Ability to build relationships and make connections that will drive funding opportunities.
It's a plus if you have:
  • Spanish language proficiency

5-Week Sabbatical after 5th Year. We want to celebrate your hard work and dedication with a sabbatical. Take 5 weeks off fully paid to rest, recharge, and reflect.
