Job Description

We are looking for an Integration Success Manager (ISM), who will own the interoperability relationship for each client over their entire lifecycle with athena in close coordination with Sales, Program Managers, and Account Management. You will have comprehensive knowledge of all of athenahealth’s interoperability offerings and use cases they address. You will also fully understand interoperability that has been designed and implemented over time for your clients and ensure they are achieving the highest levels of performance through their usage of athena’s healthcare backbone.

The Team: We are our stakeholders’ trusted advocate and strategic advisor, the client-facing component of athenahealth’s organization responsible for delivering interoperability. We create and leverage partnerships to lead integration forward by driving innovation, clarity and providing lasting value for our clients.


Job Responsibilities


  • Continuous engagement with client and Account Management to identify future business expansion (Department Adds, Provider Adds, Acquisitions, Divestitures, etc.)
  • Identify opportunities for improvements to internal processes and participate in or lead strategic initiatives.
  • Ability to perform information gathering around business case and workflow in preparation for integration design.
  • Serve as escalation point and subject matter expert to assist client and internal stakeholders in examining and enhancing workflows, processes and existing interoperability.
  • Participate in or lead cross-functional improvement initiatives in support of team/division/company yearly goals to improve athenahealth’s overall operations
  • Ensure the correct internal resources and teams are engaging with the client at the appropriate times throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Main point of contact to identify needs, both proactively and reactively, for new interoperability (interfaces, imports, migrations)
  • Engage with client during the sales cycle or right after sales has been completed to establish working relationship as soon as possible.


Typical Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, including listening, writing, and relationship development at all levels of an organization; experience interacting with internal and external client escalations
  • Communication – highly articulate; makes written and verbal arguments in a compelling manner to all stakeholders at various working levels (IT, leadership, Operations)
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in technical project management, process improvement role
  • Proven ability to execute and lead projects across cross-functional teams; ability to facilitate and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success influencing stakeholders to drive internal and external change at the client organization.
