Under the general direction of the IS Supervisor II, the SR Business Systems Analyst supports the execution of cybersecurity functions across the organization’s programs and services. Ensures that business units follow appropriate information security practices, governance, risk, and compliance requirements in the development, implementation, and ongoing support & administration of applications, systems, solutions, and services maintained by the organization. In support of this, maintains and periodically updates the organization’s security framework and configurations for information systems and security tools. Maintains information security policies, procedures, and plans and ensures that vulnerabilities and risks are appropriately identified and mitigated. Performs due diligence to protect the organization’s data and information assets adequately. Accurately manages information security threats and incidents and functions as a lead resource on the organization’s incident response team. Establishes and maintains working relationships within the information security and court IT communities and supports outreach functions that share knowledge and best practices as part of a coordinated effort to continually improve the effectiveness of local information security programs within California’s Judicial Branch. In Sacramento, the office is located minutes from downtown, just north of Discovery Park. The successful candidate will be expected to work in the Judicial Council’s San Francisco or Sacramento office; Remote work options for employees who live in areas surrounding these locations may be considered. RESPONSIBILITIESAdminister the Organizations Security Posture ActivitiesReview reports generated by internal security systems; log and assign tasks for follow-up and remediation.Review security bulletins, reports and other publications from organizations such as the FBI, Department of Homeland Security and US-CERT for applicability to Judicial Council information systems and assets, and work to remedy any identified issues as applicable. Manage Threats and IncidentsDirect the Judicial Council IT incident response teams for any identified issues, working with team members to prevent information disclosure or loss of function.Work with external agencies to identify threats to the Judicial Council IT information systems or assets. Protection of Information and Information AssetsEnsure that all new cybersecurity assets deployed follow applicable standards, policies, and industry best practices.Ensure all changes to the enterprise cybersecurity platforms follow applicable standards, policies, and security industry best practices. ReportingReport any issues to applicable Judicial Council senior management as needed.Follow up with external agencies to close out any issues, or report incidents as needed. Other Duties and Responsibilities:Attend quarterly IT all staff meetingsAttend bi-weekly Security Operations meetingsAttend as required group project meetingsLogs troubleshooting tickets/service tickets as required.Provides training to internal and/or external clients in assigned areas.Provides orientation and guidance to new staffAbility to work as required after-hours and weekends for recovery testing, critical updates and troubleshooting.Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree, and five (5) years of experience providing technical and business process support, analysis, or project management for systems/applications. Possession of a bachelor’s degree in a directly related field such as computer science, management information systems, etc., may be substituted for one of the years of required experience. An additional four years of professional experience as noted above may substitute for the bachelor’s degree. Or, additional directly related experience and/or education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. OR One year as a Business Systems Analyst with the Judicial Council of California or one year of experience performing the duties of a class comparable in the level of responsibility to that of a Business Systems Analyst in a California Superior Court or California state-level government entity.
