HUMAN RESOURCES COORDINATOR


JOB SUMMARY:


Under the direction of and reporting to the President, the Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative and technical HR support to the management team and employees of Chris Greene Inc.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Responsible for supporting a safe work culture.

  • Develop and/or update key HR and payroll policies and advise management on HR issues. Direct the interpretation and application of HR policies to ensure fair and consistent treatment of all employees. Ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws.
  • Contribute to an atmosphere focused on communication, trust, and employee engagement.
  • Manage the I-9 process for CGI as well as external reporting through E-Verify.
  • Complete and file all payroll tax reporting paperwork each pay period in an accurate and timely fashion. Assist with the payment of FUTA, SUTA, Form 941, and Worker’s Compensation on a quarterly basis.
  • Work with management to ensure the return of all essential company property after an employee terminates.
  • Detect issues on the payroll register and labor distribution report before issues escalate.
  • Manage temporary employee timecards, required documentation and bill rates. Process temporary agency invoices.
  • Post to the general ledger for Wisconsin and Federal taxes as well as 401k.
  • Responsible for the development and communication of an annual plan for professional growth, including goals for the coming year.
  • Generate job costing reports and review for accuracy. Investigate overages on labor time issues.
  • Assist with the full employee life cycle to include recruiting, hiring, onboarding, evaluating, engaging, retaining, disciplining, rewarding, and terminating of employees alongside management.
  • Handle sensitive employee situations and employee data with the utmost focus on confidentiality.
  • Partner with management to plan and participate in CGI’s All Employee Meetings three times per year as well as other employee engagement events.
  • Coordinate the performance appraisal process for all employees. Participate in each employee meeting.
  • Responsible for processing all timecards and checking for accuracy.
  • Process payroll for all employees to include verifying payroll changes, entering data into ComputerEase (CE) and making key adjustments to payroll such as garnishments, deductions, wage assignments, vacation balances, commission payouts, advances, expense reports, etc.
  • Set-up new employees in CE and create appropriate hard copy files. Organize, maintain, process, and update employee records and files.
  • Collaborative and willing to help where needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Education – Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field.
  • Technology/Equipment – Ability to operate a variety of office equipment and Microsoft Office Programs, including proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Experience and/or Training – 1 to 3 years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Licenses/Certificates – N/A


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Technology/Equipment – Proficiency with variety of office equipment and Microsoft Office Programs, including proficiency in Word and Excel. Prior experience with ComputerEase or construction accounting software.
  • Education – Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Experience and/or Training – 3 to 5 years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Licenses/Certificates – PHR or SHRM-CP
