Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION
Description:
  • The HR team spends 45% of their time on recruiting, which includes drug screens, background, I9, orientation, onboarding, and entering all the data into Workday, and just as they get them all set up, they are terminating as many as they hire (as shown from the stats).
  • The HR Coordinator allows the team more time to focus on employees and provide some support to the plant floor to help with retention.
  • This takes away from being proactive in; discipline, contractual issues, attendance issues, counseling, investigations, general training, being on the floor, influencing environmental changes that are needed, guidance / direction / training for the frontline leaders, general availability to support the staff and their needs (especially the new hires) and the list goes on.
Summary
  • Maintains the security of confidential information regarding applications, insurance forms, job requisitions, and personal knowledge pertaining to employees.
  • Responsible for accurate preparation and maintenance of employee files and records.
  • Provides for the continuous improvement of employees' basic work skills; implements/supports employee involvement teams; facilitates an employee empowerment culture. Is thoroughly familiar with all corporate and plant Human Resource policies and procedures.
  • Establishes and implements employee training and staff development programs.
Specific Duties:
  • Facilitates development and implementation of recognition activities to reinforce positive behavior.
  • Conducts a formal and ongoing evaluation of training (Return-On-Training Investment).
  • Screens, tests, counsels, and recommends employees for participation in internal or external educational and training programs.
  • Assists in organizing company functions - eg. Social activities, and children's and employees' events.
  • Keeps informed on new developments, methods, and techniques in the training field.

  • Maintains absenteeism and tardiness records on all hourly employees. Issues written warnings and final written warnings as needed.
  • Assists with daily administrative functions as required in the HR department, including data entry, filing, reporting, updating plant postings, file maintenance, etc.
  • Compiles data and analyzes past and current year training requirements to prepare budgets and justify funds requested.
  • Receiving visitors at the front desk by greeting, welcoming, directing and announcing them appropriately.
  • Confers with managers and supervisors to determine needs. Once identified, plans and conducts or coordinates training programs, seminars, etc., designed to develop a high degree of competency, performance and commitment at all employee levels. Follows-up on training exercises to maximize participation and trust.
  • Organizes and participates in recruitment, selection, tracking logs and orientation for new hires.
  • Maintains an accurate filing system of job bids, applications for employment, corporate directives, and correspondence. Maintains training records as required either by law or company policy.
  • Organizes and develops training manuals, reference libraries, testing and evaluation procedures, multimedia visual aids, and other educational material.
  • Receiving and sorting daily mail.
  • Initiates evaluation for probationary hourly employees.
  • Maintains records of all hourly employee vacations.
  • Maintains a training database to capture all employees' training.
  • Initiates paperwork for status changes on all hourly employees.
Requirements:
  • Human Resource experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are required.
  • More than 3 years in a responsible Training Management function. This should have involved the successful creation of a sound employee training program; effective use of written and oral communications and productive interpersonal relations at all levels.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and HRIS systems, are required.
  • Experienced with adult education and in conducting a Training Needs Analysis.
