Group Product Manager - Contract

Sketchy is a fast-growing Edtech startup focused on revolutionizing the way people learn through visual learning, storytelling, and the method of loci. We are looking for an experienced and driven Product Manager to join our team and help us bring our vision to life. As a Product Manager, you will be working closely across cross-functional teams to develop and execute product strategies that create a lasting impact on the lives of our users.

This is a contract position, and we expect the overall time commitment to be a few months. The screening process will have you meeting with members of the team, and it may also include a brief work sample.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the leadership team to understand the overall product vision and strategy, and guide the product and design team in prioritizing and executing on the product roadmap.

• Oversee the development of detailed product requirements and user stories ensuring alignment with the overall business goals and objectives.

• Foster strong collaboration between engineering and other cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of product initiatives across the organization.

• Effectively communicate with engineers, understand technical constraints, and make informed decisions related to product development at a group level.

• Monitor and analyze product performance across the product portfolio, using data-driven insights to optimize existing products and inform future product development.

• Communicate to internal and external stakeholders the product goals, priorities, and releases for the entire product group.

• Mentor and support product managers and designers in their roles, providing guidance and sharing best practices to ensure the success of all product initiatives.

• Stay up-to-date on industry trends and emerging technologies, applying relevant knowledge to enhance our product offerings across the group.

• Champion a build-measure-learn product philosophy across the organization, fostering a culture of thoughtful, iterative, and data-driven product decisions.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in product management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably in the Edtech industry.

• Proven track record of successfully executing product strategies and delivering high-quality products and features to market across multiple teams.

• Strong technical background, with the ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts—especially to non-technical team members.

• Knowledge of SQL is a huge plus; experience in web app development is even better!
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines across various product teams.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working in and leading cross-functional teams.

• A proactive, self-starter attitude, with a passion for learning and adapting to new challenges—especially in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment.

• Experience mentoring and guiding product managers, helping them grow in their careers and achieve success in their individual product initiatives.

Salary Range:

$100.00 - $150.00 per hour
