Position Summary
Lead the Refi Product Management team, which currently consists of 3 Product Managers and 1 Business System Analyst. Drive development, execution and maintenance of aggressive 1-year roadmap focused on impactful initiatives that will significantly increase revenue (2.5x in 3 years) and improve operational efficiency while managing quality and compliance risk. Act as liaison with key business stakeholders (including EVP of Mortgage Operations, EVP of Mortgage Sales and Chief Credit Officer) and with the Refi technology team (spearheading requirements and user stories that will guide the technology team’s workload in an agile manner). Drive “Change the Business” (CTB) initiatives, and their execution, in alignment with overall company goals.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead overall backlog management (3-plus sprints) and iteration planning. Lead Sprint Planning meetings and collaborate with Refi leadership to manage resource allocation and communicate priorities.
- Develop, execute and maintain a 1-year rolling roadmap of initiatives for the Refi business.
- Lead team of Product Managers / BSAs to provide high quality requirements to the Refi Engineering team, and manage aggressive timeframes re: delivery of applicable initiatives.
- Identify initiatives that strengthen the end-to-end Refi platform, and focus on operational efficiency; implement Lean Six Sigma principles to improve key metrics across the Loan Origination business, including significant reduction of cycle time
- Provide product leadership for the entire Refi ecosystem, from Customer engagement and Lead Management, through Loan Origination, including all functional areas (Processing, Underwriting, Funding, Closing, Post Closing, Disclosures, etc.)
- Experience in driving operational efficiencies, preferably via frameworks such as Lean Six Sigma
- Clear, concise written and oral communication skills
- Ability to collaborate well with Business Executives and engineers that are delivering on the roadmap that they are spearheading
- Qualification in project management or equivalent experience
- Effectively applies our agile/scrum methodology and enforces project standards
- Inspires team members to attain goals
- Ability to “think outside the box” and to recommend, advocate for new ways of “doing business” that mortgage professionals would not necessarily contemplate
- Prior experience in “fast growth” fintech companies that scaled dramatically during their tenure (preferred)
- Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion
- Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change
- Strong leadership
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
