PURPOSE //The Graphic + Web Designer will play a critical role in the continuing growth and success of Pure Salt Interiors, by creating digital-first creative campaigns that amplify the brand and drive conversion across all digital channels. Reporting to the Creative + Marketing Director, this position will serve as a member of Pure Salt’s Creative Studio helping to shape its culture and infuse design thinking throughout the organization.
OUTLINE //The Graphic + Web Designer role is a full-time, exempt position. This position’s primary location will be on-site in Pure Salt Design Studio (Newport Beach, CA), and will report directly to the Creative + Marketing Director. The compensation range for this position is $60-68k/annually.
DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES //
- Collateral Management // Dropbox files are updated regularly, user-friendly, and labeled/dated appropriately.
- Outbound Marketing // Develop and design an array of engaging digital assets that fuse elevated brand storytelling with best-in-class digital commerce across email, social, and digital media (including static assets, animation, motion graphics, and video editing). Conceptualize and produce social content (still posts, GIFs, Instagram stories, etc.) including shooting, retouching, editing photo selects, guiding external agencies/creators, and ensuring on-time asset delivery.
- Website + Web Platforms // Support internal teams (E-Commerce and Design) in developing high-performing website content: UXhomepage, landing pages, product detail pages, and banners to drive site conversion and improved customer UX (user) experience. Work with teams to test/optimize the E-Commerce and Learning Asset platform based on performance.
- Brand // Build and maintain brand style guides across digital channels. Develop tools for speed and efficiency in order to deploy digital creative assets quickly with consistency.
- Production // follows the editorial calendar and produces social campaigns for email, social, print, and other web initiatives, etc
- Paid Media // Takes direction from and partners with PR (Pine Street) and media partners as support for the brand and supports content for Owners/Principal Designers. Executes pitches for design projects, Shoppe products + launches, partnerships, collaborations, etc.
- Collaboration // Takes direction from Creative + Marketing Director, and partners with the Pure Salt team to graphic design all outward-facing content. Collaborate with internal teams to bring seasonal campaigns to life through a deep understanding of digital channels and creative best practices.
- Design School // Drives the execution of creativity, user experience, content quality, project time management, and seeking opportunities to develop the product further while in the early stages.
- Tasks + Time Management // Contribute to ad-hoc design projects as needed, including but not limited to brand campaigns, collateral, presentation templates and visuals, packaging, and retail/experiential.
- Photoshoot + Content Pull // Attend photoshoots to gather proper photography and videography assets for future graphics, website, email campaigns, new product launches, etc.

EXPERIENCE + REQUIRED SKILLS //
- A discerning eye for image curation, visual storytelling, typography, layout, form, and color.
- Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite, Wordpress, Klavio, Keynote, Canva, Google Suite and Dropbox preferred.
- Strong communication skills, and the ability to communicate ideas both visually and verbally to others.
- An online portfolio that demonstrates forward-thinking and innovative design and a sophisticated understanding of what makes brand content engaging and successful across platforms and audiences.
- 4+ years of experience working with an in-house or agency creative team for a Direct-to-Consumer brand. Experience with furnishing or lifestyle brands is a plus.
- Expertise in motion graphics and animation (GIFS, videos, etc.) and video editing across digital platforms.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design and/or relevant field of study.
- Ability to work effectively, seamlessly pivot, and collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment, and able to stay organized and prioritize workload based on timelines and approvals.
- A digital-first sensibility, with a passion for experimenting with the latest in interactive design, animation, testing new platforms and user interfaces.
- Front-End Web Development experience required: HTML, CSS, and Javascript at a minimum. Experience with TypeScript, Frameworks and Libraries, and CSS Preprocessors is a plus!
