Overview Of Role
Over the past two years, our organization has witnessed an exponential growth of interest in our Nexus curriculum. We have partnered with numerous organizations across the United States, supporting educators and positively impacting the lives of thousands of youth in grades 6-12. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a highly skilled and creative Virtual Graphic Designer for Education Curriculum to enhance the layout and graphics of our student-facing materials, professional development resources, and curriculum materials.
Position Details
Job Title: Virtual Graphic Designer for Education Curriculum
Employment Type: Part-time, project-based (anticipated duration: 6 months)
Location: Remote
Reporting to: Executive Director of nXu
Responsibilities
As our Graphic Designer for Education Curriculum, you will be responsible for:
Bringing Our Nexus Curriculum To Life
Collaborating with the project team to develop style guides, design systems, and prototypes aligned with our project goals.
Reviewing existing curriculum materials and suggesting improvements to enhance the visual design, considering the needs of educators and students.
Creating a unique visual aesthetic that reflects the values, style, and brand identity of nXu.
Designing original graphics using nXu brand colors, shapes, and typography fonts.
Presenting prototypes and well-crafted design assets for feedback and approval.
Incorporating team feedback and revising design work in a timely manner.
Designing Compelling Curriculum Materials
Creating final graphic design products for our Nexus Curriculum, ensuring they are visually appealing and easily editable for educators.
Applying newly created designs to existing curriculum materials, including student handouts.
Enhancing student materials with engaging and user-friendly graphic designs.
Developing captivating curriculum materials that inspire educators and resonate with students.
Applying design concepts to other nXu curricular materials.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following skills, traits, and experiences:
A bachelor's or associate degree in graphic design, visual arts, or a similar field.
3-5 years of experience in the graphic design field.
A portfolio showcasing original visual design examples.
Advanced proficiency in visual design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite's InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
Familiarity with Google Drive.
Excellent project management skills, including the ability to track and implement design changes across multiple curriculum files.
Exceptional organizational abilities to maintain a collateral and image library of all design-related materials.
Self-directed and highly productive, with the capacity to generate aesthetically pleasing visual design concepts within tight deadlines.
Strong multitasking skills, the ability to work autonomously, and a commitment to meeting project timelines.
Outstanding collaboration skills and the ability to integrate feedback effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
