Global Logistics Consultant Jobs

A mid-sized Life Science company in the Northeast is looking to add a Global Logistics Consultant to their team for the next year (remote). Our client is looking for a self-starter who can help support them with critical products, upstream Logistics, moving products from various plants, and the inventory of materials within storage/distribution sites.This role will work closely with internal/external stakeholders to ensure product supply availability.They will also be involved with critical logistics projects and solutions that shape our client’s future strategy.

Top 3 skills:

1. Must come from a strong background in supporting / creating shipment patterns and developing business processes for new global shipments
2. Ideal candidate will have both clinical and commercial experience. Candidates coming from clinical backgrounds need to have experience supporting logistics for more than just clinical studies (the type of shipping they will be supporting is more much more complex than a clinical study)

4. Need to understand global logistics. Will be expected to advise the team on planning and strategy.
5. 4.Global Trade Management: must come from a strong background in managing shipments across borders, the relationships with Brokers and requirements needed to do so.This is a critical success factor in the role.

Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of the Transportation Industry, especially in a regulated Environment
• Minimum 7 -10 years’ experience working in Logistics/Transportation function required.
• Global Trade Management and understanding of managing orders along with requirements globally
• Life Science startup organizations and shipment of clinical products helpful
• B.S. degree in Operational Management/Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering or Similar. MBA, master’s degree, or Logistics/Supply Chain certifications (CSCP) preferred.
• Business Analyst Mindset – Analytical Experience for solving complex problems with clear fact-based solutions.
• Agile mindset to constantly adapt to a changing environment.
• Implementation experience of Transportation and Warehousing Technology platforms
• Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to meet service commitments and budget requirements.
• Strong understanding of shipment of Pharmaceutical and other products in a regulated environment

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Logistics Operations

• Carrier Performance by managing KPI’s and proactively resolving operational issues.
• Coordinates with external contract manufacturing partners for the collection and review of inventory reports. Prepares inventory summaries and works with Audit to resolve discrepancies.
• Work with other Supply Chain and Quality staff to conduct transactions for material creation, movement and use in material management software system.

• Works with QA and Validation experts to ensure Lanes are monitored and meet all regulatory and business requirements.
• Create open lines of communication with our Storage and transportation partners.Provides logistics support including coordination and prioritization of planned shipments as well as shipment tracking and troubleshooting distribution related issues.
• Responsible for owning the Slow Moving and Obsolete inventory management process. Accountable for improving the way destruction of rejected, returned or unusable materials.

Relationship Management

• Presents updates to the Transportation Leadership Team with Clear Timing and deliverables.
• Participate in Business reviews and assist in long term capacity and network strategy initiatives.
• Develops and maintains relationships with third-party warehouses and carriers. Facilitate business review meetings.
• Takes full responsibility within scope of the position and/or materials or projects managed to work with various cross-functional groups (such as Quality, Tech Ops, Regulatory, suppliers, etc.) to proactively and collaboratively resolve issues that may block the timely flow of materials or projects.

Business Analysis and Project Management

• A Subject matter expert for the Transportation Management System.Will perform transactions, diagnose issues, and ensure the system is used to its fullest potential.
• Complete ad hoc transportation and implement cost saving initiatives to deliver on continuous improvement projects.
• Manage Supply Chain initiatives which have unique Logistics scenarios.Work with staff in CMC, Pharmaceutical Science, Global Trade to solve and deliver Logistics solutions in a timely manner.
• Will play a pivotal role in master data governance and be the logistics subject matter expert.

• Strong understanding of managing Global Shipments in a regulated environment.Ability to project manager several orders at one time from initial request to delivery.
• Will shape the future by playing a key role in the logistics strategy roadmap.Will help lead the transformation journey from a transaction-based mindset to an exception based analytical decision-making process.
