LHH is recruiting exclusively for a Global Logistics Director for our client in the global supply chain industry. This position is responsible for making improvements to processes, handling operations, and growing revenue streams and profit while complying with regulations. The ideal candidate will have at least seven years of executive leadership experience in a global logistics environment. This is a hybrid role and can sit in New Mexico, Arizona, or Texas, but may be open to candidates from other locations as well.
Responsibilities:
- Other responsibilities may include financial management, reporting, and analysis, as well as staying up to date with industry trends and best practices to drive continuous improvement in the freight forwarding operations
- Developing and implementing strategies to optimize the company's international freight forwarding operations and ensure efficient and cost-effective transportation of goods and materials.
- Responsible for future proofing and developing plans to forecast any potential threats to the Supply Chain
- Assist sales in developing new customers in the market
- Interfaces with internal & external customers, foreign order administrations, carriers, customs, officers, and other functional areas to ensure coordination and logistics of operations and ensure high quality service
- Leading and managing a team of global freight forwarding professionals, providing guidance and support as needed, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies as well as setting clear performance expectations
Experience required:
- Experience creating and bringing in house Customs Brokerage
- Familiarity with NCR/CAPA system and ability to make suggestions for continued improvements
- Seven years of management or executive leadership in a Freight Forwarding or Global Logistics environment
- Ability to interpret and follow regulations of multiple nations
- Experience with management of international staff and proven track record of driving results through remote management
- MS Office suite skills and experience (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS PowerPoint)
Education Requirement:
- Equivalent industry experience is also accepted
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field
Other Qualifications:
- Ability to meet aggressive goals and objectives
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time with short notice
