Job Title: Global Category Manager

Salary:$145,000 - 175,000

Location: Remote, US

Purpose:

Our Global Procurement team is searching for proven leaders to serve as Global Category Managers (GCMs) for direct and indirect spend.

In the GCM role, you will drive the execution of an effective end-to-end procurement solution for the assigned categories that maximizes the collaborative benefits across the business units. It is important that the individual in this role is an effective communicator capable of working independently as a leader of peers in a collaborative environment.

The individual must have a strong business acumen and the analytical skills necessary to bring together category and market insights and form comprehensive plans that consider customer requirements, quality, price, and risk to deliver the best company-wide solution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement and category management, and the ability to engage with technical and senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Develop the global category management strategy to align with a new Strategic Business Unit (SBU) structure and ensure maximum benefits and efficiencies across the group

• Relying on a mix of technical and business/procurement expertise, utilize the category management framework (source to contract) to undertake:

Strategic Category Management

• Define the category portfolio, build business alignment, perform analysis, develop and execute strategy, and manage the category.

Strategic Sourcing

• Identify supplier opportunities and business requirements, develop sourcing strategies, execute those strategies, negotiate, and select suppliers, and ensure proper contracts/agreements are in place

Supplier Relationship Management

• Define the supplier portfolio management, develop suppliers, on-board suppliers and manage performance and risks

Contract Lifecycle Management

• Ensure delivery of category benefits/savings as part of a newly created group-wide category strategy.
• Establish contract portfolio, manage T&Cs and contract templates, manage contract compliance and administration, develop mutually beneficial partnerships.
• Ensure successful requisition to pay execution.

Skills:

• Understanding or buying experience of electronic components
• Travel, marketing, office supplies and fleet
• Excellent analytical skills – ability to analyze data as well as draw out and communicate insights
• Effective communication and presentation skills
• IT & Telecoms
• 5+ years of experience developing category strategies, negotiating agreements and prior hands-on work with commercial/contract execution and management
• Wire & cable, connectors, and power supplies
• Effective stakeholder management, in particular technical stakeholders
• Facilities Management and property
• Production equipment and packaging
• 5+ years of experience in global sourcing
• Electronic devices, electromechanical and control systems
• Subcontracted work
• Electronic components
• Experience working with ITAR and other regulations/requirements
• Strong negotiator
• Strong project management skills
• Manufacturing consumables, plastics, chemicals

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience to be considered
