Position Review
The Fraud and Compliance Coordinator will be responsible for enhancing the online experience for our customers and protecting the company brand image by identifying, investigating, and minimizing e-Commerce and Retail fraud losses. In addition, the Fraud and Compliance Coordinator will be responsible for validating customer order information, actioning timely responses to chargebacks, providing appropriate documentation to maximize recovery of funds for Johnny Was and supporting the managers in handling problems using preventative initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Maintain knowledge on financial crimes, emerging risk trends, relevant regulations, technology, and compliance standards.
- Provide general support and troubleshooting with Department Management and agents
- Adhere to and ensure compliance of company guidelines and department policies

- Maintain and cultivate effective relationships with internal departments that fosters compassion, respect, and teamwork.
- Support Department Leadership in validating eCommerce orders and customer credit card information within established guidelines.
- Manage and respond to all eCommerce and Retail chargeback dispute; deciding on appropriate course of action; understanding the variety of chargeback reason codes and determining the appropriate documentation and evidence required to respond to each code to maximize the potential for the dispute to close in the Company’s favor.
- Support a variety of anti-fraud operational tasks and help the delivery of fraud operations initiatives
- Participate in various committees or task forces related to policy/procedure development and operational improvements
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned
- Facilitate ongoing site monitoring and enforcement escalation against non-compliant sales/sites and counterfeit products
- Assist in the creation and implementation of a Customer Behavior Program
- Research, abstracts and compiles order information and data for analysis
- Perform the daily time sensitive processes of actioning Fraud Prevention Advanced system
- Act as a SME on www.johnnywas.com customer policy, terms, and conditions
- Regularly assists Department Management in Identifying and monitoring the efficiency of opportunities within the business
Requirements:
- Experience with fraud detection or loss prevention
- Strong skills related to data analytics, and reporting.
- Prior experience working within Magento, Braintree, and PayPal a plus
- Experience with e-commerce or start up environment strongly preferred
- Flexible schedule; some weekends and major holidays
- Possesses adaptability, resourcefulness, ability to navigate varying request and stress tolerance
- Exceptional communication; verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Excellent problem solving analytical and investigative skills, detail-orientation, independent thinking, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrates superior time management and organizational skills including sensitivity to urgent matters
- Critical thinker, self-starter with great attitude
