Job Description

Title: Executive Vice President of Sales - Grocery

Reports to: Founder

Location: remote in the US

Salary Target: $200,000 -$300,000 annually

Other Compensation: 30% - 40% annual bonus incentive

We are a group of broker agencies that focus on driving sales for online and offline CPG brands by partnering with close to 300 clients and over $5 billion in annual sales management across Walmart, Walmart.com, Amazon.com, Target, Costco, and various Online Marketplaces.


About the position:

We are in search of an experienced, dedicated, strategic thought leader who will fill a key leadership role as the EVP of Sales that is focused on our grocery business.


The Executive Vice President of Sales should have in-depth knowledge of the grocery business across multiple categories and has experience working with top retailers: Walmart, Sam’s, Costco, Kroger, Target, etc.


The EVP will lead the channel development strategy for new and existing brands and help get them to retail through the right sales / broker agency.


The EVP partners with new clients to create their channel strategy across drug, dollar, grocery, mass and club. They will help the client understand the category they are trying to sell in, what the category story is, who the competition is, and what’s currently working and not working in the category. They will help the brand ensure their product has the right packaging, price, promotional strategy, marketing plan, flavor/profile differentiation that will help drive incremental sales to the category by driving foot traffic in the retail locations and helping to increase basket ring.


This EVP collaborated with our broker agencies to help get them sold in at retail, will also be a consultant to our companies to help them further build out their grocery business and will work closely with our business development team as they look for and talk with

potential new clients to be an expert in food category conversations.


When they are not working with clients, they are studying all food categories to stay on top of trends, etc.


Requirements:

  • Experience across grocery, mass and club channel
  • 20+ years of grocery/food experience (Cookies, Crackers, Beverages, Dairy, Energy, Candy, Bread, Frozen Foods, etc.)
  • Experience with brand development: packaging, pricing, channel strategies
  • The ideal candidate has been in sales with a history of leading teams calling on Walmart, Target and/or Kroger. A bonus is if the ideal candidate also has experience in marketing or sales strategy/commercialization developing brand plans to take to retail (focusing on price, packaging, promotions, channel plans, etc.)
  • Experience selling directly and managing teams who have called on Walmart, Target and Kroger and/or CPG experience working at a manufacturer like Kraft, Mondelez, PepsiCo.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or marketing. MBA Preferred
  • Must have built commercial retail plans
  • Prior sales roles and job titles as VP of Sales, SVP of Sales.
  • Background in Category Management, Business Development, Marketing, Commercialization, Sales Strategy, etc.
  • Prior broker experience
