Job Description
The Enterprise Product Manager will develop deep understanding of key business functions and partner closely with business stakeholders to understand the challenges and opportunities that Optiver needs to address. Product managers work with business leaders to align on definition and prioritization of desired outcomes. They are responsible for delivery of these outcomes, solving for the optimal flow by collaborating with domain experts and enterprise colleagues to outline and realize holistic, practical, and efficient solutions which will typically require a combination of technology and processes.
Who we are:
Optiver is a tech-driven trading firm and leading global market maker. As one of the oldest market making institutions, we are a trusted partner of 70+ exchanges across the globe. Our mission is to constantly improve the market by injecting liquidity, providing accurate pricing, increasing transparency and acting as a stabilizing force no matter the market conditions. With a focus on continuous improvement, we participate in the safeguarding of healthy and efficient markets for everyone who participates.
Based in ‘The Domain’ neighborhood, Optiver’s Austin office serves as the firm’s innovation nucleus, with a strong focus on quantitative research, software and hardware engineering initiatives. With tech innovation an integral part of our core business, the booming city proved an ideal backdrop for our heavy investment into machine learning, research infrastructure and big data computing. What’s more, with world-class music, food and art scenes, as well as countless scenic outdoor activities, the quality of life for Austin Optiverians is second to none.
What you’ll do:
  • Build (internal and external) context to enable decision-making (e.g. regulatory expectations, best practices, solutions, local considerations)
  • Point of contact, consultation, and escalation for key business stakeholders
  • Regular stakeholder expectation management
  • Coordinate delivery of the desired outcomes and help motivate teams working on them
  • May supervise junior product management or business analyst resources
  • Together with other product managers, expected to establish, document, and champion global best practices, standards, and procedures for this role across Optiver, and work as a peer coach to foster a spirit of continuous improvement in this discipline
  • Coordinate and facilitate discussion, discovery, and documentation of current processes and goals for comparison against target state
  • Collaborate with functional and technical business partners to formulate and promote appropriately incremental changes (process and technology, as relevant) to achieve global desired outcomes
  • Understand challenges and opportunities that need to be addressed
  • Project management responsibilities will be in scope for some work streams; on others close collaboration with a dedicated project management resource will be required
  • Clear, consistent communication of vision, strategy, and plans
  • Work with business leaders to align on priorities and to define the desired outcomes
What you’ll need:
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; we will not sponsor individuals for employment authorization for this job opening
  • Focus on possibilities over difficulties
  • IT Transformation (or equivalent, such as SI, M&A) experience required
  • Positive attitude and ability to build consensus
  • Some leadership/mentoring experience
  • Experience working in a distributed team model
  • Proven experience leading or significantly contributing to IT transformation projects (ideally enterprise collaboration and/or productivity platforms)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work through ambiguity and drive clarity of vision and strategy
  • Strong collaboration skills to partner with a variety of functions and experience levels
  • Organization and attention to detail
  • Leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required
What you’ll get:
  • Ownership over initiatives that directly solve business problems.
  • Work alongside best-in-class professionals from over 40 different countries.
  • Performance based bonus structure that is unmatched anywhere in the industry. We combine our profits across desks, teams and offices into a global profit pool fostering a truly collaborative environment to work in.
Alongside this you will get great other benefits such as 25 paid vacation days and market holidays, and health insurance, daily breakfast and lunch, training opportunities, 401(k) match up to 50% and charitable match opportunities, regular social events and clubs, and many more.
