The Plant Arrangement Engineering Manager will provide leadership to a diverse technical team of dedicated engineers and scientists responsible for the design and procurement of equipment and technical services in support of New Nuclear Plant Projects and Nuclear Service Projects. This position will provide the technical coordination for the plant layouts, arrangements, and construction drawings, utilizing BIM modeling software, for the development and detailed design of complete systems and building structures.

Essential Responsibilities:

As the Plant Arrangements Engineering Manager, you will:

  • Establish and maintain strong working relationship with other internal engineering team managers, business leaders, project managers and stakeholders
  • Streamline, integrate and develop team technical information sharing processes across GEH and its partners to better support business through application of Lean principles
  • Ensure adherence to GEH’s standards for nuclear safety and compliance
  • Provide guidance and manage external resources to ensure the quality of deliverables, enable flexibility and improved cost positions
  • Partner with business teams and present product/program strategies, technical roadmaps, risks, and recommendations to senior leads across GEH
  • Inspire, hire, coach and ensure the development of the teams technical and leadership talent/depth
  • Report solid line to the Senior Manager Plant Integration Engineering.
  • Own and be accountable for providing technical guidance on the GEH new plant standard plant layout and applications of such to customer’s site-specific requirements, and regulatory requirements specific to the nuclear industry.
  • Support commercial and marketing opportunities to develop new business opportunities
  • Protect the Intellectual Property rights of GEH
  • Plan, organize and manage the delivery of technical activities/tasks in support of engineering deliverables
  • Lead a team of 3D Designers (internal and external) to ensure the individual equipment/ component models, assemblies of models and overall plant layout using 3D modeling software is performed in accordance with procedures and/or perform 3D model interference resolution, space control and design studies as required.
  • Support GEH Nuclear Energy quality requirements, including participation in design reviews, initiating Condition Reports, and responding to Corrective Actions.
  • Have ownership and accountability from initial requirement setting and conceptual engineering through final design and construction and plant turnover to the customer. Manage the interfaces with partners and suppliers in support of the GEH Nuclear portfolio.
  • Interface with external partners, customers, and other applicable country specific regulatory agencies, as required on technical issues
  • Work closely with the other discipline to coordinate the performance of plant design, plant layout, commodity interference resolution and system design.
  • Provide technical and managerial leadership for a diverse team being accountable for on-time delivery of design products within budget
  • Support GEH initiatives, process improvement and simplification
  • Provide leadership supporting performance and program management of assigned work and ensure on-time fulfillment of engineering commitments in accordance with contract requirements, business procedures, industry standards and regulatory agency guidelines
  • Drive the design development in advanced simulated assisted engineering tools and maintain required system design documents in accordance the program/project software requirements
  • Ensure that the necessary design intent/requirements are captured and documented.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Proven experience Leading or Managing a Team
  • Minimum of 10 years of direct design, development and deployment experience of power plants for complex, high reliability, and harsh environment or similar facilities in the power, process, marine industries.
  • Minimum 10 years direct experience in the nuclear industry
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Discipline or similar

  • EPC experience and knowledge; specifically, power plant
  • Licensed Professional Engineer
  • Proven interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to think strategically, be creative and move quickly
  • Experience with project management skillset (communication, risk, planning/scheduling, change mgmt)
  • Proven ability to be a liaison between organizations that are operating in separate geographic locations
  • Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market and manage programs that further the knowledge, understanding and capability of the business
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of nuclear industry and technology
  • High performing individual with demonstrated ability to deliver results while exhibiting behaviors that promote strong team performance
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of highly experienced engineers and balance multiple demands and priorities

The salary range for this position is 120K - 180K. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus.
