Job Summary

Industry leading, very ruptable and well established Fortune 500 manufacturer is looking for an Environment Manager in Cleveland, Ohio. This is a day shift M-F position.

This role comes with a very competitive compensation plan commensurate with experience with a base salary ranging from $110k to $120k plus a 20% bonus that pays quarterly.

Relocation assistance is available.

Responsibilities

Manage all aspects of environmental programs and be familiar with all major disciplines,

including air, water, solid waste, SARA, etc. Interpret environmental regulations and determine

impact to facility and implement necessary compliance programs.

• Develop, implement, and manage environmental strategies, plans and procedures. Interact

with various local, State and Federal Environmental agencies. Prepare appropriate internal and

external reports and timely submit utilizing proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office,

as well as various internal computerized systems.

• Direct the development and implementation of corrective action plans utilizing root cause and

failure analysis tools to rectify non-compliance situations and to prevent recurrences. Provide

direction and oversight of environmental performance improvement projects. Participate in

rotating on-call responsibilities, including ability to respond to environmental emergency

situations twenty-four hours a day.

• Oversee preparation of federal, state, and local permit applications. Provide technical direction

and oversight of environmental employee training.

• Direct and supervise environmental department staff, contractors, and consultants.
• Participate in capital and long-term planning programs to address key environmental issues.
• Develop and maintain a well-trained professional environmental staff.
• Provide oversight of internal environmental audits.

Minimum Qualifications

• A minimum of five years of professional experience in an environmental related discipline.
• Current strong working knowledge of Federal and State environmental laws and regulations.
• Bachelor's Degree.
• Exellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Problem solving, facilitation and implementation skills.
• Interact well with all employees, agents, and the general public.
• Broad knowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management System standard.
• Expected to work independently and handle multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Environmental, or Chemical discipline.
• Prefer seven years of professional experience in an environmental related discipline.
