Role Summary/Purpose
The Plant Manager role for the Erie Fabrication facility will have full business leadership responsibility for the remanufacturing of fabricated and machined weldments and related components. This role will lead the site leadership team in the execution of continuous improvement focused around EHS and Site Compliance, Quality and Reliability, Customer On-Time Delivery, Functional Cost, Inventory, and Culture.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Responsible for employee health and safety, regulatory compliance, and sustainability.
  • Utilize lean and continuous improvement methods to drive improvements in safety, reliability, quality, cost, and on time delivery.
  • Establish site strategy ensuring investment and other required resources are aligned to achieve longer-term outcomes.
  • Drive and sustain culture of accountability, compliance, and operational excellence with both hourly and exempt workforce.
  • Ensure assigned employees are aware / comply with all Wabtec, government, customer and applicable policies, procedures, rules and regulations
  • Ensure financial controllership related to work-order transactions, inventory, and functional cost.
  • Collaborate cross functionally to execute new product introduction schedules
  • Develop necessary capacity and business contingency plans to ensure continued ability to delivery to customers when demand changes or facility problems arise.
  • Provide strategic leadership to the operations teams
  • Provide ongoing leadership, counseling, and support for plant team, guiding them in current positions and assisting with career development and training.
  • Work with team to implement projects to improve efficiency and reduce product cost through optimized work scopes.
Relocation will be offered for candidates that are eligible within guidelines.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Plant Management role and/or large business leader or value stream leader role/or equivalent operational experience
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
Desired Characteristics
  • Strong track record of coaching & team engagement skills
  • Ability to adapt and flex in a dynamic environment
  • Depth in EHS, shop operations, customer services operations, manufacturing engineering, quality, materials, sourcing, and material logistics in a heavy manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to drive accountability, improve culture, and influence
  • Strong understanding of operations and business financials including shop functionals, UX variance, and inventory
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Prior Operational leadership experience in Union and Non-Union facilities
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize lean, 5s, and continuous improvement methodologies
