What you’ll be doing...
As a Systems Admin Engineer you will provide system support and maintain operational health of complex local, wide-area, and cloud systems architecture. You’ll plan, design, develop, evaluate, test, and integrate basic systems infrastructure, including the implementation of hardware and software solutions both on premise and in the cloud. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to ensure strong customer satisfaction, take ownership of issues and follow up until resolution.
- Monitoring system health and performance.
- Coordinating user accounts.
- Installing software and system/security patches.
- Collaborating with internal and external customers and teams to resolve issues and help integrate with existing pipelines and workflows.
- Coordinating and documenting system configurations and monitoring transitions into production.
- Performing root cause analysis on failed components and basic troubleshooting and remediation.
- Supporting offsite backups.
- Identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving any system issues resulting from patching, security standard implementation, and hardware or software upgrades.
- Deploying infrastructure on-prem and/or cloud.
- Developing automation scripts and solutions for the purposes of streamlining, implementing, and testing enterprise applications.
- Monitoring EC2 instances, storage resources, capacity planning, and storage allocation forecasting.
- Supporting production, test, and development environments including cloud and on-prem infrastructure.
- Supporting NetBackup and IBM TSM infrastructure including but not limited to: NetBackup appliances, SL8500 Tape Libraries, NetBackup Media servers, NetBackup clients.
- Supporting Enterprise backup solutions, including NetBackup and TSM.
- Upgrading hardware and software.
- Implementing vulnerability testing, threat analyses, and security checks (Security Assessments).
- Creating and maintaining programmatic and technical documentation to ensure efficient planning and execution.
- Supporting NetBackup and TSM Policies and procedures.
- Configuring monitoring tools.
This role may be considered as part of the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program.

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or one or more years of work experience.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- Experience in specialized training/courses on LINUX or UNIX-based operating systems.
- Experience in logging and monitoring dashboard tools (e.g., Zabbix, Grafana).
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of networking concepts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- NetBackup certification.
- AWS or related certifications.
- Experience in LINUX or UNIX-based operating systems.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of Veritas NetBackup and Storage Area Networks.
- Experience in programming background in any scripting language (e.g., shell, perl, ksh) or other systems operation-based language.
- SAN (Storage Area Network) certifications.
