POSITION SUMMARY
Maintains the Bank’s infrastructure, applications, and related technologies. Provides technical expertise for systems to ensure performance and availability meet service level agreements (SLA) and objectives. Conceptualizes, documents, and communicates solutions to meet the Bank's objectives. The Systems Engineer will also use their knowledge of Hyper-V, VMWare, and physical infrastructure services and their integration within the virtual infrastructure. The Administrator must be responsive to all the needs of the organization. Systems Engineer should be familiar with integrations with third party tools, and scripting using tools such as PowerShell.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborates with the Bank’s IT Team on the design, implementation, and support of the Bank’s enterprise computer systems. Ensures and maintains the security, stability, integrity and efficiency of its infrastructure, topology and resources.
- Provides direct technical support, diagnostics, problem resolutions, integration, and systems maintenance. Performs root cause analysis to quickly recover from service interruptions, connectivity and to prevent recurring problems.
- Develop the tools and processes to maintain stability and performance of our internal infrastructure.
- Evaluates new computer systems, services and applications and deploys as necessary to ensure Bank’s systems are aligned with organizational and other required goals and objectives.
- Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
- Adhere to sound practices and maintain Information Security standards for securing Bank hardware and software systems.
- Designs, implements and maintains access security and computer policy enforcement of end user access to Bank’s computer data.
- Analyzes new server hardware and software and makes change recommendations as necessary.
- Develops standards for Windows systems applications and access architecture.
- Adhere to Bank established patch management procedures to securely maintain systems.
- Provides backup and high-level support to users and other technical staff.
- Maintains documentation related to all job function(s) for training or problem resolution purposes.
- Develop scripts to automate the deployment of resource stacks and associated configurations.
- Stays current with technological developments in systems administration technology and recommends ways for the Bank to take advantage of new technology.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adheres to Bank policy and procedures and complies with confidentiality regulations including Gramm-Leach Bliley Act principles by successfully completing related trainings and maintaining these learned practices on the job.
- Support the Bank’s efforts and follow best practices to prevent network and system security vulnerabilities, such as spyware and computer viruses.
- Work with internal users via telephone, email, and remote web meeting to bring issues to a timely resolution.
- Maintains documentation for incoming work orders as assigned.
- Maintains a current understanding of Bank policies and procedures in compliance with all federal and state laws, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act (SARs, CIP, OFAC), Information Security (GLBA), Identity Theft Red Flags, Financial Elder Abuse Reporting, and any other applicable regulations that may be specific to your job duties.
- Participates as a member of the Emergency Response Team.
- Provides after hour on-call support for computer systems issues.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree preferred, with BS in Computer Science/Engineering strongly preferred
- Possess extensive knowledge of server hardware and software applications and network operating systems.
- Minimum 5 yrs experience and certification demonstrating competency in systems engineering (e.g. MCSE or COMP)
- Strong awareness of networking and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP and distributed networks.
- Experience in overseeing the design, development and implementation of software systems, applications and related products.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to stay focused on completing tasks and meeting goals within a busy workspace.
- Proven ability to collaborative with multi-disciplinary teams of business analysts, developers, data scientists, and subject matter experts
- Extensive experience with core software applications, including Microsoft operating systems, back office applications and productivity software.
- Extensive hardware and software troubleshooting experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Maintain certification(s) by standard operating system provider as needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time
- May occasionally be exposed to loud environments
- Occasional travel to other locations will be required.

The hiring range for this opportunity is $39.33-$58.00 per hour along with incentive opportunities, creating a competitive total compensation package based on our pay scale, and may be modified by location and is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
