Responsible for the design and architecture of Linux server, Kubernetes/container systems and supporting infrastructure. Supporting Red Hat Linux (RHEL) platform. Writing configuration management manifest using Ansible and Puppet scripting languages to automate repetitive administrative tasks. Troubleshooting Linux operating system issues and documenting root cause. Installing and configuring docker, and containerd runtime components. Installing and configuring Kubernetes components to enable container orchestration. Writing yaml manifest to create Kubernetes deployments, PODS, stateful sets, persistent volumes, secrets, configmaps, services, and ingress objects in Kubernetes. Using Kubectl command line interface (CLI) to administer and manage the Kubernetes cluster. Using devops tools including GIT source control, container image registries (docker hub), confluence and JIRA to track issues, releases and collaborating with team members. Provisioning and supporting AWS Cloud services, virtual private cloud (vpc), Elastic Cloud Compute (EC2), Elastic Load Balancer (ELB), and Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS). Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability. Maintaining security, backup, and redundancy strategies. Writing and maintaining custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks. Participating in the design of information and operational support systems. Providing second and third level support. Liaising with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution. Managing and monitoring installed systems and infrastructure and testing for potential bottlenecks, identifying possible solutions, and working with developers to implement those fixes.

Qualifications - External

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or foreign equivalent degree).

Experience: 5 years of IT experience supporting Red Hat Linux (RHEL) platform; writing configuration management manifest using Ansible and Puppet scripting languages to automate repetitive administrative tasks; troubleshooting Linux operating system issues and documenting root cause; and 3 years of experience must include installing and configuring docker and containerd runtime components; installing and configuring Kubernetes components to enable container orchestration; writing yaml manifest to create Kubernetes deployments, PODS, stateful sets, persistent volumes, secrets, configmaps, services, and ingress objects in Kubernetes; using Kubectl command line interface (CLI) to administer and manage the Kubernetes cluster; using devops tools including GIT source control, container image registries (docker hub), confluence and JIRA to track issue, releases and collaborating with team members; provisioning and supporting AWS Cloud services, virtual private cloud (vpc), Elastic Cloud Compute (EC2), Elastic Load Balancer (ELB), and Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS).

Other: Required to work nights & weekends & be on-call during non-business hours as needed for testing and deployment purposes.

Other: Position allows remote employment from a commutable location 3 days a week.

Wage: $136,552 - $146,552 U.S. dollars per year
