Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire production process from submission to published book
• Evaluate manuscripts and proposals, including logging submissions, writing reader's reports, and researching comp titles
• Provide administrative support, including maintaining digital files and metadata, updating systems, and processing expenses
• Assist with department responsibilities and handle correspondence and queries from authors and agents
• Facilitate editorial process by drafting promotional copy and preparing acquisition paperwork and profit & loss assessments

Requirements

• Impeccable attention to detail and ability to prioritize and multi-task in a deadline-driven environment
• Strong presentation, communication, organization, and writing skills
• Strong interest in children's publishing, especially graphic novels, illustrated fiction, chapter books, and picture books
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Prior book publishing and/or media industry experience is a plus
