We’re currently looking for a passionate and creative Director, Retention Marketing to join our team in Los Angeles.
The ideal candidate will drive the operational success of the team, owning end-to-end campaign management of various email marketing, and retention programs from production to development, execution, and reporting. You will be responsible for developing innovative approaches to recruiting customers in key life stages and driving significant LTV (lifetime value) with Evite. Come join the party!

Core Capabilities
  • Ability to retain and grow email and SMS marketing customer records, partnering across the organization to implement tactics and testing
  • Experience with push notifications, in-app messaging and SMS marketing
  • Proven ability to drive revenue by retaining and engaging customers through CRM channels
  • Proven ability to drive email performance utilizing segmentation, personalization, behavioral triggers and testing across all stages of the customer lifecycle
Responsibilities
  • Own email campaigns from briefing to deployment, including managing our vendor partnerships and workflows
  • Own the strategy and develop customer lifecycle communications across relevant touch points: Email, App Push and potential for SMS. Continuously aim to drive sessions, revenue, positive sentiment, loyalty and increase in lifetime value
  • Optimize marketing automation with triggered email programs and defining of business logic behind customization, campaign prioritization, frequency caps, etc.
  • Develop an email testing roadmap to optimize engagement, drive frequency and grow revenue
  • Develop a segmentation strategy to drive revenue and deeper engagement and retention
  • Understand the customer journey and refine the channel contact strategy to meet customers within each lifecycle stage
  • Own the email marketing calendar working cross-functionally with the Brand Marketing and Creative teams to ensure all campaigns are aligned with overall marketing calendar and business priorities.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across the business – including copy and creative – to execute email campaigns and initiatives
  • Create A/B testing schedule and modify copy, creative, send times, send days to optimize performance
  • Partner with Analytics team to automate key metric reporting and leverage this data to provide insights to inform strategic decisions and guide future email campaigns
  • Define and manage strategic and tactical metrics, analyze data, and translate into successful actions to further optimize programs
  • Manage ESP and oversee the QA process; testing of email proofs, striving for 100% accuracy within email content and audience targets
  • Lead design and functionality of all email templates to increase email deliverability, open rates, click through rates and conversion
Additional Preferred Requirements
  • Collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • A strong work ethic plus demonstrated problem-solving capabilities. Ability to use information, data, and resources to proactively identify and solve problems
  • Minimum 10 years of experience creating successful email marketing campaigns and working in CRM for an e-commerce, consumer-facing brand
  • Not afraid to wear multiple hats and drive strategy, but also handle the day-to-day
  • Email HTML code editing and troubleshooting a plus
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or equivalent
  • Experience with data management, analysis, presentation, reporting, and tracking tools (Excel, Pivot Tables). Ability to not only report, but also provide recommendations for future improvements, is a must
  • A comprehensive understanding of ESP (ex. Cheetahmail or similar, Leanplum or similar), Adobe CS (plus) & HTML/CSS (plus)
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with analytics, reporting and tracking tools like Google Analytics
