Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn’t work together.
So we expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions – to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer buy now, pay later functionality through Afterpay, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Across it all, we’ve embedded financial services tools at the point of sale, so merchants can access a business loan and manage their cash flow in one place. Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth, enabling sellers to capture the next generation shopper, increase order sizes, and compete at a larger scale.
Today, we are a partner to sellers of all sizes – large, enterprise-scale businesses with complex operations, sellers just starting, as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time. As our sellers grow, so do our solutions. There is a massive opportunity in front of us. We’re looking for a powerful pitch creator and storyteller who can bring to life the power of our retail payments and marketing solutions in order to retain our merchant partners.
This role will be responsible for maintaining our Account Management pitch system by regularly enhancing it with compelling data and relevant messaging.
You’ll partner closely with various marketing, analytics, and account management stakeholders to translate our capabilities into merchant-focused messaging and enable our account managers to articulate this messaging with impact.
Responsibilities:
  • Use your operational and deck-building prowess to ensure that new content complements our modular content library, building on our existing materials in a way that is easily deployed by account managers
  • Own the virtual room during enablement sessions by bringing to life our pitch narrative for merchant-facing teams in a way that engages and inspires.
  • Exercise an editorial and analytical mindset to develop messaging that deeply resonates with retail decision-makers backed by the data that proves it
  • Lead regular narrative enhancements of our QBR templates and other Account Management marketing materials (emails outreach drafts, one-sheets) with messaging that communicates new product launches, merchant success stories, and up-to-date business metrics.
  • Be a cross-functional connector to proactively gather product, data, and campaign information and masterfully package it into merchant-focused messaging.
Qualifications
  • Strong design skills with an ability to both create product mocks and slide designs.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting sales or account management teams with pitch materials in a fintech, SAAS, or Mar- or Ad-tech business.
  • Experience servicing any of the Top 100 retail businesses in North America is a plus
Additional Information
Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Zone A: USD $138,200 - USD $169,000
Zone B: USD $128,500 - USD $157,100
Zone C: USD $121,700 - USD $148,700
Zone D: USD $110,600 - USD $135,200

This role is also eligible to participate in Block's equity plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies, and may be eligible for a sign-on bonus.
