Summary


The Director of Revenue Management is responsible for identifying and optimizing all potential room revenue opportunities for the hotel.This position is responsible for formulating long and short-term Revenue Management strategies based on hotel business needs, as well as their successful execution, exceeding hotel financial goals and advancing RevPAR market share.This includes the analysis of revenue generated by the transient and group market segments and corresponding sub segments.Consideration will be given to catering, space utilization and other revenues to ensure the appropriate mix of business is achieved, maximizing total revenue for the hotel on a consistent basis.


Position Overview:The Director of Revenue Management is responsible for managing all aspects of revenue generation and reporting. Oversee systems and sales in the Reservations Department, ensuring the correct quoting of rates, sales effectiveness and policies.Works with the Sales department to evaluate and to accurately forecast current and future business.Communicates with the Front Desk staff, Sales department and Reservation team concerning sales strategy and house status on a daily basis. Communicates and collaborates with the Marketing team regarding business needs for successful marketing campaigns.


Key Responsibilities:


Establish and maintain hotel’s price positioning in all segments and distribution channels.


  • Responsible for working with e-Commerce on digital marketing, such as pay per click advertising, e-mail blasts, GDS advertising, etc.
  • Establish and communicate strategy for day, week, month, and rolling 12 months.Communicate any strategy updates to the Sales and Marketing teams so all strategies can be shifted accordingly
  • Develop, grow, and mentor Reservations Associates, growing their Revenue Management and leadership skill sets through personal attention, training, and participation in industry events.
  • Complete all required month end reports with detailed analysis.
  • Provide analytical reports in support and preparation of the annual Room Revenue Budget and development of the Business Plan.
  • Responsible for all short and long term forecasts including Weekly Forecasts, 30-60-90 Forecasts, and Full Year Forecasts.
  • Creates and manages a departmental budget.
  • Responsible for the daily room inventory management process and daily pricing process.
  • Understand the economic factors affecting supply and demand in the market and feeder markets, and use this knowledge to create accurate room revenue forecasts.
  • Monitor and communicate changes in occupancy to operational departments so that staffing may be managed efficiently.
  • Monitor and provide critical analysis STR, Hoteligence, Demand 360, etc. on weekly and monthly basis identifying areas of opportunity and strategies to improve revenue and overall profitability.
  • Interfaces with contacts and customers as requited.
  • Place test calls to internal and overflow call centers to ensure agents are quoting according to the set sales strategy.
  • Attends all scheduled meetings and contributes actively with proper preparation.
  • Must be an example of the Dream Hotels Values and Brand Standards.
  • Responsible for the setup and maintenance of any software programs which contribute to the management of rooms revenue including, the CRS, RMS, PMS, and Sales and Catering system.
  • Oversee the process for evaluating all opportunities for contracted business (group, wholesale, corporate negotiated, etc) presented through the Sales Department.High speed of response while maximizing profits is a must.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with market managers and vendors to maximize opportunities.
  • Chair weekly Revenue Strategy meetings.Evaluate past strategies for efficiency and communicate changes in market demand.Review strategies for all segments and review sales and promotional strategy/production.
  • Manages the operations and scheduling of the Reservation Team based on business needs.
  • Monitor competitor rates, positioning, strategies and data.
  • Work with Sales Team regarding management of group cut off dates.Review GRC for updates.
  • Ensure all distribution channels are optimized for pricing, inventory, and content.
  • Take lead in writing, communicating, and providing analytical research, documents, and reports to complete the Financial Report to Ownership and Executive Leadership.
  • Create strong, open minded revenue culture throughout the hotel.
  • Analyze, maintain, and communicate, understanding of the dynamics of the local market and demand generators, past and present, so that corresponding strategies may be implemented based on the opportunities they create.


Qualifications


Qualifications:


  • Analytical skills, as well as problem recognition and resolution skills.
  • Bachelor degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
  • Excellent planning, organization, presentation, time management and communication skills required.
  • Minimum five years boutique luxury experience in Revenue Management. Two years at Director Level preferred.
  • Proven team leader with track record of living the brand’s values. Results oriented with an emphasis on both individual and team accountability.
  • Technologically savvy, expert in Microsoft Excel, possessing the aptitude and desire to learn new technology.
