Overview:

Ada Meher is collaborating with a global trading platform in their search for a Director of Data Analytics & AI for the purpose of managing a team of highly driven Data Analytics Engineers and driving all data-related initiatives for the organization.

Responsibilities:

• As the Director of Data Analytics and AI, you will lead a team of Data Analytics Engineers and drive all data-related initiatives for the organization. Your key responsibility will be to establish efficient data processing systems and develop data models to facilitate analytics.

• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, Operations, Marketing, and Finance teams to execute complex projects aligned with business goals and the product roadmap.

• Act as a strategic thought partner to the leadership team while also contributing as an individual contributor, executing high-quality work with speed and finesse.

• Oversee and manage data infrastructure, processes, and tools.

• Lead and manage a high-performing team of Data Analytics Engineers, ensuring effective execution of tasks, fostering a positive team culture, and establishing data management standards and best practices.

• Develop a deep understanding of the company's business goals, priorities, and success metrics to contribute to business strategy, tackle complex problems with data solutions, and provide insights for decision-making.

• Conduct various analyses on large datasets, including data science, exploratory data analysis, and model development. Clearly communicate results and insights to the leadership team.

• Create and manage advanced reporting, dashboards, data models, and tools to support cross-functional teams and initiatives, enabling self-service capabilities where possible.

• Extract, manipulate, cleanse, and synthesize data from multiple sources using ETL technologies.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in algorithmic engineering, data science, or machine learning, with at least 5 years in people management and team scaling. Strong technical expertise is necessary to mentor and develop the team, including proficiency in at least one programming language and SQL.

• Passion for artificial intelligence and machine learning, with some exposure to Generative AI (GenAI).

• Ability to gather data from internal and external systems, design data storage structures, and construct automated data pipelines that are reliable and scalable within a rapidly growing data ecosystem.

• Strong comprehension of data modelling principles and modern data platforms for designing data model architecture, data ETL processes, reporting, and analytics solutions.

• Capability to leverage modern machine learning and data science stacks (such as AWS, Python, Pyspark) to push the boundaries of analytical insights. Familiarity with Fivetran, Snowflake, DBT, and Looker is preferred.

• Excellent communication skills, emotional intelligence (EQ), and the ability to manage multiple projects across stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

• Bonus: Advanced degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
