Director Of Clinical Services

At Oceans Behavioral Hospital Permian Basin, healing is our focus. The Director of Clinical Services (LCSW preferred) is responsible for supervision of the social services necessary to meet the legal, organizational, medical staff and regulatory agency guidelines. Supervises therapy services, case management, education and discharge planning. Provides guidance and supervision of other social workers, therapists and interns. All duties to be done in accordance with Joint Commission, Federal and State regulations, Oceans', policies and procedures and Performance Improvement Standards.

Educational / Experience Requirements:

Must be a LCSW in the State of Louisiana, or LMSW or LCSW in the State of Texas. Must possess one of the following: (1) a Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work and prefer at least three years of full time experience in psychiatry.

Qualifications / Skills:

Excellent assertive communication skills. A sound leader who possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster cooperation across departmental lines and manage information, environmental and fiscal resources to accomplish goals. Good writing and composition skills. Able to organize and prioritize high volume workload. Able to function with minimal supervision. Therapeutic Intervention De-escalation Education required. Ability to maintain overall good work attitude and interact cooperatively and professionally with other staff members. Basic competency in age/disability/cultural diversity needs of patients served and ability to relate to patients in a manner sensitive to those needs.

Work Environment:

Subject to many interruptions. Pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries. Can be high paced and stressful; must be able to cope mentally and physically to atmosphere. May experience disagreeable odors, sights and/or unpredictable patient behavior. Requires spending approximately 85% or more of the time inside a building, which offers protection.
