Provides day to day oversight and project management for any new centers joining Bright Horizons, ensuring that each project goes smoothly for all internal and external stakeholders. Leads through the planning phases to the new project opening date, until Operations takes on full management. Facilitates communications, the timeline, and Bright Horizons resources, keeping the goals of all constituents at the forefront. Consults with and advises on best design and regulatory elements.
The major functions and responsibilities below will be determined based on how they apply to each individual project and project expectations:
- Project Management: Review and Assess: identify each project's parameters and ensure the internal and external project team and resources will support all aspects of each individual project. Facility, Playground, and Compliance: Develops and provides project teams with timelines based on established parameters, making adjustments as needed to reflect the schedule and other situations as warranted; develops, maintains, and distributes project documents, feedback records, and progress reports; effectively use tools and resources; participates in design/construction reviews with client liaison, client project manager, architects, and playground designer providing feedback on regulatory compliance and operational best practices. Equipping & Setting Up Centers: Partners with procurement to maintain FFE workbook that meets Bright Horizons Education Dept., NAEYC, and/or licensing requirements; leads procurement of facility services; develops and manages logistical details related to the new center move in process
•Business Development: Collaborates with consulting, client services, client relations, GUILD architects, clients, and operations teams; supports the sales process, including participating in and supporting site evaluations and center tours; creates preliminary space programs, provides operational review for fit plans and schematic designs; assists in the development of FFE and pre-opening budgets; develops and refines processes, tools, resources, and communications for each project. Participates in client finalist presentations or meets with external stakeholders to demonstrate the resources Bright Horizons contributes •Client Relationship Management: Develops positive relationships with clients by seeking opportunities to support liaisons or other key constituents in their roles, builds an understanding of clients' expectations; participates in meetings with clients, architects, contractors to ensure progress toward accomplishing pre-opening tasks, such as, decision Log, policies and procedures, marketing/communications plans, move in and licensing expectations; builds a knowledge base of clients' objectives in collaboration with RMs and DVPs •Leadership: Supports RMs and DVPs during the design and development process; leads regularly scheduled project meetings with operations team and other project team members to ensure effective teamwork and communications; responds and addresses issues in a timely manner; and identifies action items necessary to complete activities within the established timeline •Financial Management: Understands, utilizes, and tracks proformas, development fees, pre-opening expenses, and FFE budgets; effectively communicates budget information to appropriate parties and ensures adherence; collaborates with staff accountant to track and create documents for reporting budget information to client, operations, and client relations
- Teamwork: Collaborates across Bright Horizons departments to ensure successful establishment of center operations and positive communications; utilizes the HEART Principles to mitigate conflicts and problem solve; effectively utilizes team members and motivates project team to work together in the most efficient manner; proactively seek feedback and chronicle lessons learned; and works effectively with external project partners, such as, the client, client's project team, architects, consultants, contractors.
Education/Experience
- Ability to communicate vision and goals while facilitating a detailed project plan
- Ability to understand and work on any project model assigned
- Strong understanding of change management, ability to bring teams together to problem solve around issues with a sense of urgency
- Experience working with internal and external clients/constituents
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and complex projects simultaneously
- Experience working and managing across a broad and diverse group of people
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and fiscal management skills
- Demonstrated sensitivity and responsiveness to needs of all project constituents
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
- Strong center based/operational experience that helps to inform the decision making process during the course of each project
- 5 years minimum experience Specific experience with new center project work required and 3 years of project management preferred
- Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred
This is a remote role. This role will pay up to $100K yearly base.
