MDisrupt is an Austin, Texas based start-up company that is focused on developing a platform that connects digital health companies to scientists and healthcare industry experts to help them build, commercialize and scale their products faster and more responsibly. Our mission is to organize the world’s digital health products by performance, through clinically crowdsourced data generation.


MDisrupt was founded by healthcare industry executive Ruby Gadelrab who has spent the last 24 years commercializing healthcare products. She previously served as the VP of Commercial Marketing for 23andMe and held other leadership roles, including Invitae and Life Technologies.


Job Overview


MDisrupt is seeking a Sales Director to join our growing organization. The right person for our team is an excellent communicator, thrives at a fast pace, and embraces the flexibility and excitement that is part of early-stage startups.


The Director of Sales will be accountable for hunting new business opportunities, primarily from health technology and life sciences companies that would benefit from access to MDisrupt’s network of on-demand healthcare experts. The focus is to grow the business through the acquisition of new accounts. We are seeking someone with an entrepreneurial spirit, passion for selling, a proven track record of success, and a hands-on approach to building business opportunities. A successful candidate will build a meaningful and quantifiable pipeline, open high-level conversations, qualify opportunities, identify decision makers, and close deals in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have a keen understanding of the healthcare industry as well as bring experience and potential client contacts.


Key Responsibilities


  • 100% emphasis on net new business by prospecting and hunting for new business opportunities.
  • Drive the deal process including development of proposals and closing.
  • Develop and maintain an opportunity landscape to prioritize actionable opportunities that drive revenue through a strong understanding of MDisrupt’s objectives and capabilities.
  • Develop and prioritize client targets to support growth targets and revenue goals.
  • Build and manage client pipeline and develop forecasting of sales and timelines.


Requirements


  • In depth understanding of the healthcare industry ecosystem including digital health, medical diagnostic, genomics, and/or lab services.
  • Determining potential clients
  • High level of computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), Google Product Suite, plus advanced user of CRM.
  • Sales pipeline management experience using established sales methods.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, adapt to change, and work well under pressure in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Excellent customer interface skills including strong communication and ability to drive meetings and deliver effective presentations.
  • Championing deals
  • 5+ years in solution selling or related services with predominant experience selling to SMB clients.
  • Comfortable working with the ambiguity of a fast-paced startup - ability to innovate, and solve problems creatively.
  • Strategic prioritization of opportunities
  • Prior experience establishing client partnerships:
  • Negotiating and closing transactions
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or related field plus MBA and/or advanced degree in a scientific discipline is preferred.
  • A tenacious, persistent, and highly motivated drive to see opportunities become a reality.
