WORK STYLE DESIGNATION: Remote (IL)
EXPECTED PAY RANGE: $161,305 - $221,795
This pay range is for the position's base salary only. This position may be eligible for other compensation including incentive pay and/or allowances. Candidates will receive additional information during the interview and selection process.
POSITION SUMMARY
Leading new business development initiatives leveraging Hitachi’s Core Technologies (CT), including Analytical and Microscopy products and solutions. Target markets include environmental, natural resources, and the related emerging green economy. Specific responsibilities include market/technology research and assessment, enterprise c-level client engagement, facilitating cross-divisional collaboration, promoting existing related CT products and solutions, and preparing/presenting internal executive summaries and reports. The primary territories for this position are the Americas and Australia with a focus on developing a new Hitachi global enterprise.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluate and screen potential business opportunities.
- Work closely with senior sales, marketing, applications, and R&D staff – across multiple divisions and Hitachi group companies – to identify and develop new strategic business opportunities.
- Lead the Hitachi “Green Value” New Business Development initiative in the Americas.
- Identify, develop, and target key market segments and industries to build long-term opportunities and demand generation.
- Work with the factory, internal staff, vendors, partners, and customers to promote Hitachi CT products and solutions.
- Organize and report information on emerging market requirements and industry trends.
- Develop and maintain strategic client relationships.
- Participate in the planning and execution of company CT marketing programs and events.
EDUCATION, LICENSES, AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- BS/BA in related Science Field
- MBA or PH.D. in related field.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Product line and technology (SEM, TEM, FIB, EDS/XRF, UV/VIS, HPLC)
- 15 or more years technical and/or commercial experience within the field of electron microscopy and/or X-ray Fluorescence.
- Demonstrated business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit.
- Additional skills required for managing clients and internal staff, such as planning, organizing, communicating, preparing, and conducting presentations, drafting letters and proposals, and executive level reporting.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively.
- Ability to work well with and influence others, including colleagues and customers.
- Excellent English, written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Solid organizational skills.
