Job Description

CELINE is looking for a Department Manager to join its Madison Boutique in New York City!


YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT


This position is responsible for the overall management of staff, merchandise, and customer experience. The Department Manager will also be responsible for achieving sales objectives, maintaining, and achieving high operational and merchandising standards and goals, building highly motivated teams, and developing associates to the next level.


YOUR IMPACT


Sales:

  • Develop events/incentives that will continue to grow customer base, with particular emphasis placed on building local market.
  • Manage the level of floor supervision to improve sales results.
  • Lead and empower sales team to provide high quality customer service in order to achieve maximum sales results.
  • Coordinate the use of all client relationship resources (training tools, client books, etc.) to provide personal assistance to customers.
  • Meet sales goals set forth by the Corporate Merchandising and Director of Stores.


Customer Service:

  • Assist sales associates with various customer service issues.
  • Ensure positive results on Mystery Shop Scores.
  • Empower associates to make decisions in the best interest of providing good customer service by serving as a proactive mentor and problem solver.
  • Maintain the highest degree of customer service every day.


Operations:

  • Effective utilization of POS system and its inventory management functions.
  • Partner with logistics and product team to insure appropriate assortment.
  • Maintain good communication with members of corporate office, mall office, repair facility and other stores.
  • Perform other projects, as assigned.
  • Be fully trained in current POS systems and to ensure that the staff is proficient as well.
  • Provide monthly qualitative and quantitative business reports as stipulated by Corporate.
  • Coordinate follow-up and paperwork in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Meet inventory accuracy and shrink requirements.


RTW Visuals:

  • Support Visual Merchandising in planning, scheduling, and implementing an innovative, compelling and well carried out visual environment with the express purpose of enhancing the customer’s shopping experience.
  • Partner with the Visual Manager to lead all aspects of the department merchandising standards.
  • Review sales frequently, take action to correct deficiencies and improve positive sales.
  • Determine metro customer profile allowing appropriate reaction to individual trends in business.


Human Resources:

  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills in taking care of staff, peers, supervisors and the NY and Paris corporate office.
  • Identify and develop growth potential of individual staff members.
  • Recruitment of candidates for all levels within the department with qualifications that meet company standards.
  • Develop and empower staff through goal setting and regular individual and department meetings.
  • Supervise personnel and implement company policies while adhering to accurate procedure regarding disciplinary action.
  • Identify individual and team training needs; create and implement regular training to be followed up with a written report to training manager.
  • Involvement in department’s succession planning by training and developing support personnel to the best of their abilities.


KEYS FOR SUCCESS


Experience:

  • 6+ years’ experience in a retail setting with emphasis on operations, store management or office administration, preferably in a luxury setting.
  • Computer literate; learn and use various software packages.


Competencies:

  • Action oriented, result driven.
  • Desire to work retail, with a focus on management.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Candidates with client books strongly preferred.
  • Passion for luxury product with an appreciation for design.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs which includes, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in meditating and resolving issues or concerns that may arise.


The compensation for this position ranges from $110k- $120k (annually). The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidate’s relevant skills and experience.
