About The Role

We believe that data-driven technology is a critical part of solving the thorny, complex challenges of a broken system. We are looking for a product-minded Data Scientist with 2-to-3 years of professional experience (academic/internships alone will not qualify), someone who cares about clinical quality, impact, ownership and cross functional collaboration. You will work closely with Lyra’s Product, Engineering, and Operations team to enhance the Lyra platform to serve the needs of our providers and clients. Some of our product initiatives include facilitating access to care for eligible members, and enriching our suite of self-care options, just to name a few.

• This Data Scientist role can be full-time in our Burlingame, CA headquarters, OR virtually - however, remote candidates must be currently located in the United States)

Core Responsibilities:

• Become an expert in the data we collect and use that data to enable us to create the highest quality product for our clients
• Develop comprehensive analyses from diverse data sources to answer questions related to the client care journey
• Complete time-sensitive ad hoc data requests for internal and external stakeholders
• Translate data insights into recommendations on business strategy and product roadmaps
• As a Data Scientist on this product-facing team, you will..
• Partner with data engineers to build pipelines that apply clinical logic to raw data

Required Skillsets & Experience:

• Demonstrated understanding of statistical applications and methods (experimentation, probabilities, regression). Experience applying hypothesis testing in an industry or research setting.
• Ability to deliver time-sensitive ad-hoc analyses requested by leadership
• Solid experience with Python, including cleaning and analyzing data, as well as using Python to parse JSON structured data, call APIs, create user-defined functions, and automate
• Graduate-level Statistics coursework with MS in a quantitative field is preferred (statistics, econometrics, biostatistics, quantitative social sciences)
• Experience developing comprehensive analyses using irregular data from disparate sources. Willing to do whatever it takes to clean messy data prior to deriving insights.
• Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating across multiple functions
• Strong SQL proficiency. Experience writing complex queries with multiple schemas and tables, and a preference for candidates who have experience creating views
• 2-to-3 years of professional, quantitative data analysis experience with a preference for individuals who have experience in product analytics, and have partnered with engineering and product teams in prior roles. NOTE: While we do require a minimum of 2 years of professional (non-academic/non-internship) experience to qualify, this is not a Senior-level position

Preferred Skillsets & Experience:

• Interest/prior experience in public health a plus
• Experience with Tableau is a plus

The anticipated annual base salary range for this full-time position is $114,000 - $157,000. The base range is determined by role and level, and placement within the range will depend on a number of job-related factors, including but not limited to your skills, qualifications, experience and location. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
