Remote Sensing Data Scientist
Fully Remote
$140K - $200K+
I am working with a forward-thinking organization that is looking to push the boundaries of satellite technology and how we use it for weather change and detection. With an already successful business model, this organization has been fully self-sufficient since 2008 and profitable since year 1. They are now at a point where they have secured some outside funding to accelerate and advance their product and service offerings.
They are looking for a skilled and versatile Remote Sensing Data Scientist to join their satellite team. This role bridges the domains of satellite software engineering and data science, focusing on developing and optimizing onboard software and data processing algorithms for imaging sensors. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of remote sensing technology.
What you’ll do:
- Integrate software components into the satellite's onboard systems, ensuring efficient and reliable operation.
- Collaborate closely with satellite engineers to ensure software meets hardware and system requirements.
- Conduct testing, debugging, and validation of software modules to ensure reliable performance in space environments.
- Create and optimize algorithms for real-time data processing, noise reduction, image enhancement, and feature extraction from sensor data.
- Apply machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques to enhance data analysis, classification, and interpretation capabilities.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to design, develop, and implement onboard software solutions for remote sensing imaging sensors.
What they’re looking for:
- Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and frameworks for segmentation, classification, and regression tasks.
- Strong understanding of image processing techniques, including filtering, segmentation, and image registration.
- Proven experience in satellite software development, signal processing, and data analysis.
- Prior experience working on CubeSat missions or remote sensing projects is a plus.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related fields.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python.
This is your chance to join a company that is profitable, self-sustainable, and at a crucial point in its journey! If you think this position could be of interest to you, please apply now!
US citizenship or green card is required due to security considerations.
