Overview
Foundry is searching for a Vice President, General Manager for our Events business. The Vice President/GM position will be responsible for managing the overall event product growth of Foundry events business in North America. The VP, GM reports to the SVP, Global Events, and has direct responsibility for event product strategy, event revenues/gross margins and event people resources. This includes overseeing event content, audience development, and operations to meet and exceed the strategic event goals of the organization. The VP, GM working collaboratively with centralized sales and marketing teams, will be responsible for achieving the event product portfolio.

Responsibilities
- Maintain strong relationships, aligned goals and regular proactive communication with internal teams supporting North America events (editorial, marketing, sales) to ensure the achievement of agreed event KPIs
- Provide continuous direction, support, feedback, and coaching to direct team and management team and ensure consistency throughout all venues
- Assist management in developing annual event goals and assign metrics for measurement of these annual objectives
- Oversee standard operating procedures for all aspects of the North America Foundry events portfolio, ensuring alignment with corporate global events strategy
- Managing Cost of Goods and other expense controls to ensure achievement of corporate event Gross Margin targets
- Identify potential challenges that could impact the business in the future while taking corrective action on current performance deficiencies. Recommend and implement changes to prevent known performance deficiencies from recurring
- Monitor and review North America event business plans and results monthly, including making recommendations based on changing conditions and results
- Support Commercial leaders with insightful analysis regarding forecasting, pipeline, category breakdowns and top client reports
- Provide leadership and direction resulting retention and career path development for the events team
- Budgeting / Forecasting for North America Foundry events
- Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and yearly event financial goals for North America events
- Implement and manage a variety of departmental event protocols and practices to insure event brand consistency throughout the portfolio
- Facilitate and manage planning, development, and coordination of digital multi-sponsored syndicated, live multi-sponsored syndicated and single sponsor events
- Provide complete, timely, and comprehensive event reviews
Qualifications
- Innovation and creativity to create brand new event strategies that attract customers and capture the competition
- Proficient with CRM and metric led processes
- Ability to lead groups and develop strategic plans
- Ability to recognize trends and precede them
- Demonstrated time management and organizational skills to meet strict deadlines
- 7-10+ years in an events management position with strong knowledge of the IT sector
- Proven collaborative skills to develop growth strategies
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient financial management skills for forecasting and reporting
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency with both digital and live events

Salary range and additional compensation, including discretionary bonuses and incentive pay, are determined by a rigorous review process taking into account the experience, education, certifications and skills required for the specific role, equity with similarly situated team members, as well as employer-verified region-specific market data provided by an independent 3rd party partner. At IDG, Inc., we are committed to fair and equitable pay practices. Expected salary, dependent upon experience and location is between $200,000 to $287,000 which includes base and bonus (if applicable).
