The Opportunity

You will be a part of a dynamic digital marketing team tasked with growing traffic and engagement for our owned and operated digital properties. As the Content Marketing Specialist, you will play a key role in driving engagement and increasing traffic to our digital properties, particularlyrateretriever.com. Your primary focus will be on monitoring industry trends and producing timely, news-worthy content that will earn attention and backlinks. By becoming an expert in insurance, you will elevate our comparison site to new heights.

Responsibilities

• Review and edit content for grammar, punctuation, style, and SEO optimization
• Identify and capitalize on backlink opportunities by conducting thorough research and analysis of authoritative websites, directories, and industry-specific platforms.
• Collaborate with the Rate Retriever team to develop and execute strategies for increasing visitor traffic to our digital properties related to insurance
• Plan and execute distribution of content assets through appropriate channels including owned and operated websites, social media channels, and organic and sponsored guest posts
• Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing, including regular updates with the CEO.
• Work with the Brand Manager to maintain the content editorial calendar by scheduling due dates and tracking content through the editorial process, ensuring all content is optimized and published on time.
• Ensure all assets adhere to internal and partner specifications
• Conduct regular reports of content marketing and backlink outreach activities to measure growth and identify areas for improvement.
• Maintain Rate Retriever’s social media presence and participation in discussions around insurance in social media communities.
• Assist on other Soleo-owned lead gen properties as needed
• Conduct outreach to publications and websites in the industry to secure publication opportunities for our content[D,A1]
• Publish and optimize content using our CMS, WordPress.
• Develop strategic outlines, creative briefs, and an audience-driven content strategy
• Create a variety of strategic content including news articles, landing pages, ad copy, infographics, and other content assets
• Monitor industry trends and conduct research to stay informed about the latest developments in the insurance industry

Requirements

• The ideal candidate would have strong analytical skills, and would be able to provide examples of ways they have used analytics to improve brand presence on social media
• Bachelor’s degree in a marketing, advertising, journalism or a related field
• 1-3 years of work experience in a marketing or writing related position; experience with insurance industry is a plus
• Background in graphic design (with examples of past work), experience HTML and CSS, and/or experience with HubSpot is desirable
• Strong writing skills
• Ability to thrive in a positive team environment and contribute to a collaborative atmosphere.
• Strong knowledge of SEO techniques, particularly with landing pages
• Experience with web design in WordPress and/or Elementor preferred, but not required
• Strong organizational and planning skills, including experience creating and managing content calendars.
