Job Overview:
MagnifyGood, a leading social sector communications firm, is looking for a smart, energetic, organized and highly motivated individual to join the team as an account manager. It is the responsibility of the account manager to manage and maximize communication opportunities for their clients and the agency.
Generally speaking, you will provide any and all underlying support that will enhance communication strategy and increase the exposure and recognition of clients and the agency. The successful candidate will be part Shakespeare, grammar guru and AP-style whiz, and part relationship builder, researcher and project manager.
As an account manager, you will connect daily with clients and the agency to manage requests and projects from conception to completion. On a "normal day" you might work on pitches and press releases for the accounts you lead, then switch gears to write and schedule blog posts. You will often find yoursel on tight deadlines when a client calls out of the blue with an emergency that might force you to drop everything you are doing.

Responsibilities for Account Manager:
- Gather editorial calendars and media intelligence to inform PR strategies
- Write and produce near-perfect press releases and pitches
- Ability to network with writers and content producers in a professional manner
- Lead day-to-day account management for agency clients
- Consistently develop new ideas and opportunities involving emerging media
- Communicate effectively and seamlessly among the agency, clients, prospects and media
- Stays current with topics and trends related to client accounts
- Other tasks as assigned by management
- Work with CEO and management team, keeping confidentiality at the forefront of everything
- Develop and monitor press coverage and reporting to clients
- Contribute to new business strategy and secure new clients based on their goals and opportunities
- Stays current with topics and trends related to client accounts
- Contributes to social media strategy, content development, and management for client accounts
- Work with the agency team to execute marketing campaigns on behalf of the agency and our clients
Qualifications for Account Manager:
- Comfortable working under tight deadlines and within a constantly changing environment
- Ability to prioritize, multitask and work with minimal supervision
- Willingness to try and to master new things
- Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment
- Knowledge and use of social media for PR and marketing, using platforms including but not limited to: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn
- Strong writing ability and knowledge of AP style (no exceptions)
- Interest in new technologies and presentation techniques/software
- 3-5 years relevant experience, preferably with a PR or communications firm
- Solid PR and media relations foundation and interest in learning
- High level of proficiency with Google Workspace (including Docs, Drive and Calendar), Office (including PowerPoint, Word and Excel) and Zoom
- Bachelor's degree in public relations, journalism or communications
- Demonstrated project management capability
