Job Summary:

As the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of a start-up domain name registrar, you will lead the technical strategy, oversee the development and operation of the registrar's systems, and drive innovation in the domain name industry. This role requires a deep understanding of the domain registrar space, prior experience in the industry, and strong technical expertise. You will play a critical role in shaping the company's technical roadmap and delivering exceptional domain name services.

Responsibilities:

Technical Strategy and Roadmap:

• Stay updated with emerging technologies, trends, and industry standards in the domain registrar space.
• Identify opportunities for technical innovation, product development, and service enhancements to differentiate the registrar in the market.
• Develop and execute the technical strategy and roadmap for the start-up domain name registrar, aligned with business objectives and industry best practices.

System Architecture and Infrastructure:

• Implement robust data protection measures, disaster recovery plans, and cybersecurity protocols to safeguard customer data.
• Optimize system performance, reliability, and efficiency, ensuring seamless integration with external partners and stakeholders.
• Design, implement, and maintain a scalable, secure, and highly available technical infrastructure to support domain name registration, DNS management, and related services.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

• Build and lead a high-performing technology team, providing mentorship and guidance and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, marketing, customer support, and legal, to ensure effective integration of technology with overall business operations.

Vendor Management:

• Evaluate and select technology vendors, partners, and service providers, ensuring their offerings align with the registrar's technical requirements.
• Conduct regular performance assessments and ensure adherence to service level agreements.
• Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee the implementation of third-party solutions.

Technical Expertise:

• Possess a strong technical background and expertise in system architecture, infrastructure design, and scalability.
• Proficient in programming languages, databases, and cloud technologies relevant to domain registrar operations.
• Experience with cybersecurity practices and data protection measures.
• Familiarity with domain name registration protocols, DNS management, and related technologies.
