We have been retained to find a Chief Technology Officer / Chief Information Officer (CTO/CIO) in New York City for an industry-leading, privately held, hospitality-similar company. This role reports to the dynamic CEO, truly one of the best leaders in the industry. Local NYC candidates only (the company is based in the Financial District).
We are seeking a leader who comes from an organization that is heavily consumer focused with a POS environment (e.g., loyalty program, CLTV) and competes relative to competitors on advanced analytics. Extensive experience with customer-facing digital products required, including building and implementing an overall operating platform for the business. In addition, the CTO needs to have deep digital and mobile expertise.
What’s important is someone who has experience building a platform and integrating disparate technology, understanding middleware, building an “operating platform” for the business. An understanding of marketing technology is important as well, enough so that you can have intelligent and resourceful conversations with the marketing leader.
Significant required background in facility services, hospitality, retail, ecommerce, gaming, restaurants, or airlines. This company has many physical site locations.
Must have led the IT/technology function in a multi-site, consumer focused business with >$200 million annual revenue.

The company is a monster in the hospitality/consumer/facility services industry based in New York. The CEO has set the company up for significant success with his team, and already they have transformed and built digital customer connection capabilities that are driving traffic and loyalty. They just need a CTO to help take this to the next level. The company is a consumer and facility services business that acts like hospitality, and values knowledge of multi-site companies with exceptionally strong consumer connections.

Estimated salary range $250,000-$350,000 plus 35% annual bonus target, depending on experience.
Qualifications
- Experience working with marketing teams and understanding of marketing technologies
- Strong leadership to build enhanced engagement between across business functions
- Proven digital transformation skills in an IT leadership position (customer-facing digital experience required, apps and web)
- MBA or Master's Degree highly preferred
- Background in branded retail, gaming, hospitality, restaurants, or airlines
- Ability to manage robust discussions and positively debate with the CEO and the peer leadership team
- Expertise in digital transformation, customer-facing digital products, and mobile technologies
- Strong background in analytics, data-driven decision-making, and creating competitive advantages through technology
- Multi-site operating knowledge of POS (point-of-sale) systems and integrating acquisitions
- Gravitas: have the proven executive presence and competence to influence peers and the broader organization
