Foxley Talent are looking for a Founding CTO / Director of Engineering for a VC-backed Startup in New York. A unique opportunity to directly impact and change an industry!

The company have a SaaS product used by beauty and hair professionals to help them run their own businesses. The product collates all the resources needed like work space, web and digital presence, wholesale purchasing, payments, insurance etc to help each individual set up and operate their independent business.

The Founding CTO will be a hands-on tech lead managing a small yet productive team as well as responsibility for designing and developing the tech architecture for existing and new products including DevOps and security layers.

Current stack is Python, Django, React/Typescript, AWS and some NextJS so proven experience is required within a startup at seed or series A stage company. In addition, the current development team is offshore so any experience leading an outsourced/offshore engineering team would be a benefit. As would the ability to recruit and build your own engineering team (outsourced and/or in-house)

With this role, having excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) is essential as is the ability to be the internal and external face of the technology function for customers, partners and investors.

The successful CTO will need to have a background working in within e-commerce or consumer facing SaaS products for small businesses. Any knowledge of the beauty industry is a plus but not essential.

Compensation:

$140,000 - $170,000 + high equity

The role requires on-site working in New York where you will be working with the rest of the senior leadership team 2-3 days per week. All candidates will need to be eligible to work within the United States. Support with re-location is a possibility for the right candidate.
