Chief Accounting Officer:

Reporting directly to the firm’s Chief Financial Officer, the CAO will be primarily responsible for accounting operations: financial close process and SEC filings, revenue recognition, cash and AR management, payroll, internal controls, and audit and tax oversight and support. The CAO manages, provides leadership and oversight for all of these essential functions and is willing to “roll-up sleeves” and be hands-on.

Essential Duties:

• Preparation of ad-hoc special requests for management
• Supervise and manage the accounting team
• Report to the CFO with timely and accurate financial information
• Helps company achieve budget objectives by performing analytical reviews of the monthly operating results to ensure the reasonability and accuracy of reports
• Oversight of all finance and accounting operations including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, revenue recognition, and cash management, and ensuring that the books are closed in accordance with the Company’s internal guidelines
• Primary responsibility for timely reporting of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial activities
• Working closely with management or executive teams to share reports and analysis findings
• Ensure compliance with all GAAP and other applicable laws, rules, and financial regulations for financial, partnership and tax reporting
• Serve as liaison with internal and external auditors for audits and reviews and preparation of tax returns with outside accountants
• High-level financial reporting and analysis. Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported and is in accordance with accounting records. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting

Skills, Education and Experience:

• Digital Media company experience strongly preferred.
• BA/BS degree and CPA required.
• Big Four public accounting and SEC reporting experience essential.
• Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
• Must have strong attention to detail, work ethic, and professionalism
• 8+ years of experience leading the corporate accounting or financial controller’s function in a public company.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures

Position Time:

• New York City area preferred.
• Contract position - strong possibility of going permanent for the right candidate.
