Chief Accounting Officer - Remote | Wfh

We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) to be a crucial part of our executive leadership team. As the CAO, you will play a pivotal role in managing our accounting department, driving efficiency and effectiveness in our financial processes, and spearheading innovation through the use of cutting-edge technology.
Responsibilities
Lead and inspire a top-notch accounting department, overseeing recruitment, management, mentoring, and development of the team.
Ensure accurate and timely accounting by managing the company-wide accounting/consolidation close process with a focus on efficiency.
Foster innovation and streamline monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, resulting in increased accuracy and a shorter month-end close cycle.
Champion the use of technology in accounting and control processes, implementing automation and integrating disparate data/systems.
Oversee all treasury functions, including cash management and reporting, acting as the primary contact for banks.
Facilitate communication with external auditors regarding financial statements, accounting matters, and accounting disclosures.
Develop accounting policies and prepare technical accounting memos to document accounting treatment, processes, and procedures.
Establish a comprehensive internal control framework across all financial and operational processes.
Collaborate closely with the FP&A team to align processes and review forecast materials as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; Master's degree strongly preferred.
CPA certification required, with at least 15 years of progressive accounting experience, including a background in both public and startup companies, as well as experience in a Big 4 or large regional firm.
Solid knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls.
Proven expertise in internal control design and financial process optimization.
Experience With NetSuite Preferred.
A track record of innovation, leadership, teamwork, and creativity.
