General Purpose:
Provides quantitative analysis to support Vestas strategic planning and business decisions. By combining a deep understanding of power market fundamentals, wind customer and project economics, cost of electricity roadmaps, and customer activities, the Energy Analytics Leader will create the analytical framework to achieve short-term profit maximization and long-term wind competitiveness in future power markets.
Responsibilities:
· Serve as a go-to individual for market knowledge and analysis needs in the North American region and Global Intelligence unit
· Support business development efforts through pitch deck creation, research, data analysis and customer engagements
· Potential functions include product management & forecasting, turbine & service value engineering, competitive analysis, power marketing, business development and policy analysis
· Quantify impact of external market factors such as economic incentives, supply chain price volatility, environmental restrictions, and federal/state/local governmental rules as it may impact
· Collaborate to leverage Vestas data streams into GIS-based market intelligence platform
Essential Functions:
· Proficiency with applicable software applications including Microsoft Office, ArcGIS and Alteryx
· Solve problems analytically; search out relevant information and gauge its importance when making decisions
· Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical terms
· Ability to translate specific goals into action and follow through to achieve goals
· Fully support cross-functional projects and stakeholders
Education, Training, and Skills Required:
· Bachelors’ degree in marketing, engineering, economics, or finance, Masters nice to have
· 2+ years of professional experience
· Experience working in energy and a basic understanding of energy markets
· Advanced communication skills, oral and written, and interpersonal interaction.
· Experience with coding language such as Python or R favorable
· Non-pandemic travel required as an essential element of job (<10%)
