POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Administer Microsoft Power BI platform and lead upgrade planning, configuration, and capacity planning.

• Lead and coordinate support with other IT areas and vendors when troubleshooting and resolving performance or other issues.

• Provide guidance to other Power BI developers during dashboard development using Power BI, DAX, and Power M to establish and promote best practices for dashboard and data set development, and deployment with consideration to security, performance, DAX usage, naming conventions and visualization standards.

• Build and optimize workspaces and datasets to promote ease of self-service while adhering to secure and structured organization of workspaces, apps, datasets, and dashboards.

• Establish monitoring, service and performance reporting and collaborate results with data, security, infrastructure, and operational teams.

• Create and automate data refresh schedules utilizing PowerShell scripting or other means recommended.

• Engage in prototyping, designing, developing, and publishing Power BI solutions that meet Achieva security standards.

• Extract and mine data using SQL, Python, and Power Query from decentralized systems and vendors.

• Assess integration efforts and make recommendations for merging BI and reporting platforms.

• Build Power BI data models, dashboards and reports that meet use case requirements and use DAX for building measures and metrics.

• Collaborate with the Enterprise Analytics team to ensure we build optimized data solutions for the purposes of ad-hoc analytics, advanced analytical models, reporting and dashboards.

• Responsible for providing full lifecycle BI administration including monitoring, service metrices, license management, and collaboration and support for data owners, developers, and end-users.

• Serve as subject matter expert providing content for developer and end-user training .

• Research, recommend and leverage new features of the Power BI platform including AI capabilities.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• BS in Analytics or Information Systems or certification and/or equivalent job experience as listed below.

• MS Certified Power BI Data Analyst Associate.

• 3+ years of experience using MS database technologies.

• 3+ years of experience as a Developer using Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.

• 1+ years of experience as Administrator using Power BI Service, Gateway, Service and Report Server.

• 1+ years of experience in finance, banking or payments and card processing industries.

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

• Exceptional knowledge of Power BI platform environment as both a developer and administrator including Desktop, Gateway, Service and Report Server.

• Energetic self-starter willing to propose and implement innovative ideas that will help evolve Achieva’s Enterprise Analytics platform.

• Excellent knowledge of Power BI Desktop capabilities for the development of interactive reporting and dashboard solutions that help facilitate business decision making.

• Proficient in Power Query M for data enhancements, cleansing and manipulation.

• Knowledge of Power BI Service administration for user roles, workspaces, datasets, dashboards, and apps.

• Knowledge of Power BI security capabilities including access control, data row-level security, use of roles to control sharing, publishing and data export.

• Knowledge of Power Platform COE Starter Kit.

• Knowledge of Power BI tools such as Bravo for assessment of measure design (DAX) and ETL process (Power Query).

• Knowledge of cmd and PowerShell scripting.

• Proficient in SQL and experience in relational databases / data warehouses (Snowflake).

• Knowledge of RDL Migration tool for the conversion of RDL to paginated reports in Power BI.

• Ability to create paginated reports using Power BI Builder.

• Knowledge of programming languages R and or Python is a plus.

• Foundational knowledge of Snowflake.

• Knowledge of agile Scrum and Kanban methodologies.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills with the ability and desire to learn and improve.

• Detailed initiative-taker who possesses a strong ownership stance and excellent time management skills.
