How You’ll Make an Impact as a Director, Business Intelligence:

The purpose of the Business Intelligence Director is to direct and oversee high level strategic and tactical decisions for business intelligence tools and applications for Talent Solutions Global TAPFIN. This role is responsible for leading the design and maintenance of business intelligence applications and ensures that the use of business intelligence applications enhances business decision making capability through descriptive, prescriptive and predictive insights.


• Responsible for the overall direction of Talent Solutions business data, development of reporting content, partnership with delivery teams to provide impactful data insights, and external showcasing of capabilities.

• Influences senior leaders (Regional SVP, VP, Directors) to take action based on data insights that have an impact on sales, customer loyalty, and/or internal efficiency/performance.

• Ensures that the BI Team is developing analytics that prescribe business action and predict results that benefit our clients or internal teams’ performance.

• Ensures data integrity and accuracy through consistent data validation efforts.

• 5+ direct reports and total team size 15-25 depending on volume and increased client need. Approximately $2M budget.


Sharing Expertise:

• The BI Director has expert level domain experience with regards to data integrity, modeling, content development, and uses data to counsel the business.

• In addition, this Director must understand the business drivers in Talent Solutions and ensure data insights are aligned to support the delivery of those drivers. This means the individual must have a solid understanding of the businesses supported.

• Using expertise in BI as well as business knowledge, the BI Director must align to business goals and ensure all products and insights created support the delivery of those goals and allow the business delivery teams to continuously improve performance internally or for the client overall.

• The BI Director must thrive in an often ambiguous and ever evolving environment. Macro-economic changes, client demands, industry differences and new technologies will force this individual to adapt the BI Team’s deliverables to sufficiently account for these environmental changes and continuously stay relevant and integral.

• Sell and evangelize the value of BI, analytics and sound data management to executive sponsors and business leaders to help drive adoption of tools and insights.

• Partners closely with global leaders and BI professionals to share knowledge, processes, and insights.


Your Typical Day:

• Engage with Delivery Leadership to identify most common data and analytics needs and key performance metrics to best manage their portfolio and partner with them to analyze, understand results and share best practices.

• Host regular meetings with all department leadership to understand and incorporate their feedback and needs into the strategic direction of the Business Intelligence team and share Business Intelligence team needs for their consideration including but not limited to Sales, Technology, Delivery, Engagement, Legal, and Finance.

• Track and ensure timely delivery of BI strategic initiatives.

• Analyze and educate Delivery and Clients on opportunities that exist within their program using data and analytics.

• Engage with all team members evaluate, coach, develop and support their career development goals.

• Support the pursuit of new Sales leads by bringing subject matter expertise about how the organization uses data to support the enhancement and delivery of our solutions.

• Monitor the accuracy and timeliness of data refreshes to ensure compliance with organizational and contractual SLAs and expectations.

• Periodic travel in support of Program initiatives, Sales pursuits and other organizational initiatives.

What you’ll bring with you:

• 3+ years of BI Leadership experience including the oversight of data preparation, content development, and data insight delivery.

• Proficiency in analytics and business intelligence platforms (e.g. Tableau, Birst, Qlik, Microsoft BI) and OLAP, ETL and Visualization Platforms

• 3+ years of experience in design and execution of development processes and standards, development of analytics products and consulting tools that can be packaged and delivered to external customers

• People Management

• Bachelor’s degree

Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business, Technology, Data Science or a related field

• Leadership experience in MSP service lines

• IT Leadership experience

• Solutions sales experience

• Experience as a database administrator
