The Business Development Manager is a virtual sales role that is responsible for revenue generation within their Assessment Platform product suite. This position will be responsible for meeting sales goals through prospecting, qualifying, managing, and closing sales opportunities. The Business Development Manager will work with prospects, clients, & channel partners across multiple industries and geographies.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Nurturing: once leads are identified, continuously develop into opportunities through consistent follow up and solid next step strategies.
- Proposals: identify key needs and provide solutions by writing and delivering customer specific value-added proposals.
- Pipeline: commitment to pipeline strategy and accurate forecasting to secure revenue.
- Discovery: asking key questions to gain an understanding of needs to ensure full opportunity is evaluated and aligned with their product offering including talent & engagement assessments, leadership succession tools, 360 feedback surveys, and learning & development solutions.
- Documentation: consistent documentation of all sales activities in the CRM for solid reporting.
- Lead Generation: ability to create and manage lead campaigns, prospect via phone, use LinkedIn, and other approaches to generate leads.
- Account Knowledge: maintaining a deep understanding of assigned accounts providing high level or general status updates (i.e., opportunity, risks, actions, support required).
- Consultative Approach: drive top line revenue growth through professional, consultative, and proactive interactions with all clients and partners.
- Communication: exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal in order to express technical and nontechnical concepts clearly and concisely. Ability to collaborate internally, relay recommendations and determine the best approach.
- Goals: driven to set goals under limited supervision by being proactive, organized, and eager to meet objectives.
- Innovation: Display original thinking and creativity. Meet challenges with resourcefulness. Develop innovative approaches and ideas. Present ideas and information in a manner that gets others' attention while being positive and professional.
Qualifications:
- Past complex solution sales experience, ideally to Human Resources.
- The ability to build relationships and quickly develop trust with C-level executives.
- Willingness to limited travel based on business needs.
- Experience working remotely.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and presentation skills.
- Ideal candidates should have a client-centric mindset with prior experience selling enterprise products and services using a valued- based selling methodology in the human capital field.
- Demonstrated proficiency of Microsoft Suite, Salesforce.
- Ability to work effectively in a sales team environment.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- 5+ years of B2B sales experience.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude and a proactive approach to work.
