Limelight Hotels are contemporary properties set in the heart of authentic mountain and urban communities owned and operated by Aspen Hospitality. The current portfolio includes Limelight Hotel Aspen and Limelight Hotel Snowmass in Colorado; and the Limelight Hotel Ketchum near Sun Valley in Idaho. Limelight Hotel Denver will open in 2023, and two additional Limelight Hotels in Mammoth, California, and Boulder, Colorado, are slated to open in 2024 and 2025, respectively. Summary
The Bell Person assists arriving and departing with their luggage. Provide information and services to guests and patrons.
Pay rate is $18/hour plus gratuities.
- Report to work on time
- Complete tasks and projects delegated by your manager and assist other departments as staff and business levels demand
- Ensure guest room is in order and describe location of television remote, air conditioning control, guest services directory, safety procedures, etc. to guests checking in
- Deliver messages, packages, or other items to guest rooms or other areas of the hotel expeditiously, placing in designated areas
- Assist the Concierge on duty as required by answering the phone and taking messages
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the Lobby and Bell storeroom
- Perform tasks as required by the Concierge on duty to provide maximum guest service
- Assist departing guest with their luggage from guest rooms and checking it into storage, or bringing it to the entrance and assisting doorperson in loading it into the automobile
- Describe all hotel services and hours of operation; provide safety information and other information as needed
- Assist in emergency and security procedures as directed by management
- Give summary of hotel information to guest
- Make manager aware of guest’s comments or complaints
- Escort arriving guests to their rooms on a rotating basis with other Bell staff, handling their luggage with care and efficiency
- Report to work in a neatly groomed and acceptable manner as outlined in the Employee Resource Guide
- Polish the brass bell carts daily
- Comply with all policies of Limelight Hotels and Aspen Skiing Company
- Handle luggage for tour or group check-ins in accordance with established procedures
- Assist with valet parking, door and driving functions as needed
- Follow baggage tagging procedures and ski storage procedures
- Display a high level of friendly and courteous service at all times, as well as a cooperative attitude with all hotel employees
- Report any deficiencies or guest dissatisfaction at once to the Front Desk and Front Office Manager
- Be familiar with hotel fire and safety procedures
- Know about all daily functions, locations, and times for appropriate guest direction
- Previous hotel experience helpful
- Command of the English language
- Able to handle a variety of different tasks at the same time
- High school diploma or equivalent
Additional Information
Supervision Given and Received
Given: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Received: Works under direct supervision of Front Office Manager. Tasks are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently. Instruction, advice and assistance are readily available.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Ability to be on your feet, kneel and bend for extended periods of time. Regularly work in adverse conditions and requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements as well as an office environment and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces. Must be able to lift, push or pull occasionally up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance.
