Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Engineer / AWS Cloud Administrator to join our team. As a Solutions-oriented Database Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting database management solutions in large standard and enterprise production environments on both Windows and Linux systems. Your expertise in database analysis, design, installation, migration, upgrades, performance tuning, maintenance, troubleshooting, backup, and restore will be essential in ensuring the optimal performance, integrity, and security of our databases.


Responsibilities:


  • Utilize 12c OEM and multitenant architecture for efficient database administration
  • Install and configure New Relic for monitoring and performance optimization
  • Migrate databases from on-premises to AWS Cloud
  • Utilize AWS CLI for command-line administration
  • Provide technical support to resolve database-related issues
  • Support both Windows and Linux systems
  • Foster team building and provide mentorship and leadership to junior team members
  • Execute system migrations and upgrades
  • Manage and administer PostgreSQL and MySQL setups on AWS RDS
  • Manage AWS resources such as EC2, RDS, DMS, S3, security groups, and VPC
  • Provide DBA support and ensure the smooth operation of database management systems
  • Install and troubleshoot database systems
  • Perform performance tuning to enhance database efficiency
  • Implement Agile methodology in database-related projects


Required Skills:


  • Familiarity with Agile methodology and Jira tool
  • Strong experience in performance tuning
  • Expertise in migrating databases from on-premises to AWS RDS and EC2
  • Experience working with AWS services such as EC2 instances, S3, etc.
  • Proficiency in installing and configuring New Relic for monitoring and optimization
  • Knowledge of Linux OS, including RedHat Enterprise Linux and Oracle Linux
  • Proficiency in Oracle database versions 9i, 10g, 11g, and 12c
  • Knowledge of DATAGUARD for database availability and failover
  • Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager (versions 10g, 11g, and 12c)
  • Ability to migrate MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL databases to AWS Cloud
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems
